new origins...can we change way games are made?

i for one would like to see a much larger variation of character origins, perhaps even linking to lands that bio ware didnt make or mention

 

(like an orleasion start point, or add in an asian and/or african land (current DA map is one continent so its more unrealistic that the world has only one

thus would not be against lore unless you set new lands in a future setting, though lands can be set further in their past as it still fits in the general styling

such as if you were to add a three kingdoms period china to the game, it dosent clash w/ the medieval theme of the game despite being much longer ago)

 

perhaps someone might want to start as a human commoner, perhaps you are a mercenary, perhaps from distant lands,

maybe your a dalish elf mage (they dont report thier magi to the chantry thus wouldnt start in the tower)

so much possibility

 

the developers have left allot of holes and contradictions in their story

 

i know the tools available are young and modders current skills, no matter how good, are still green,and many tools nessessary are not available

 

but it would be a shame not to explore the full potential of such an epic game.

 

compare it to your favorite anime series, you could add near infinite content to it, as theres always such a limit on time and level of interest

they dont write a "day by day" type story line and you end up with the "months later" or parts with the main character(s) coming back from

some excursion that isnt mentioned beyond that point.not to mention all the possible side content of what other characters are doing

 

and i like how games dont take player character personality to consideration at all, at least in games like jade empire and fable:TLC

they implemented a good/evil slider that affected how almost all npcs react tward you

(sarcastic about liking if cant tell)

 

all in all, character development in games is a joke. perhaps through this game, if we can add enough fan made content

(not simple weapon/armor and nude patches)

 

but really take this game from a simple short adventure story, and make it an epic, follows YOUR character, in a world that reacts to who you are

and what you do,with a contineous storyline that dosent end with vague references to a "new world" or time of peace.

 

heck lets just make a new game loosely based on Dragon Age,

 

content to add;

events witnessed/missed depending on where and when you went in what order.

new lands (thus starting points, races, cultural lore, garb, weapons.

good/evil slider (thus new npc reactions, dialogue, cutsceens, alternate endings.

more interactive npcs (for character development, love interest, and such

expansion would add more/alternate companions

 

like i said, endless possibility

 

for those who read all that (or scrolled but still get the idea) thanx, and ill stfu and let the responses begin
