Kelranox
So, I downloaded OBSE because I was told I'd need it to use Deadly Reflexes or Midas spells. After downloading it I copy-pasta'd all the appropriate threads into the Oblivion folder from the OBSE folder. However, the following error came up: You are trying to use the Steam version of Oblivion, please refer to the readme file for instructions, or something like that. However, the instructions told me to copy-pasta said files into the folder. So, I copied EVERY file from the OBSE Source folder into the Oblivion folder and it still didn't work. Now, if I'm not explaining myself correctly I could always put my files into a RAR file if someone had the time or patience to look at it. I may be asking for a bit much but I've really nowhere else to turn =/ If you helped out it would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you. Qwaxalot
From the OBSE Readme If you are using the Steam version of the game: 1. Copy obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_0.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_steam_loader.dll to your Oblivion directory. This is usually "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\oblivion".2. OBSE will automatically be run along with Oblivion when launched. To disable this, rename or move obse_steam_loader.dll. NOTE: obse_steam_loader.dll NOT obse_loader.dll

I haven't moved anything anywhere else so I'm unsure as to where else oblivion.exe would be other than in the appropriate folder.
Qwaxalot
Is Oblivion.exe and obse_steam_loader.dll in the same folder? If so, you're probably using Vista, and you need to run everything as an administrator, which is going to turn into a real pain. Better to uninstall everything and reinstall the whole shooting match into someplace other than default, something like C:\Games or the like. And yes, they're both in the same folder. Common - Oblivion. I only get a different error when OBSE_loader is in the same folder now, which was my previous one. I'm assuming it would be best to uninstall and reinstall anyway? Especially considering I can't get the alternate menu loader I downloaded to work either >.<

So yes, you are better off, by far, to uninstall amd reinstall to some place other than the default program files directory. I suggest creating a C:\Games directory, and install all your games there. Life will become much better.
