Vir
I tried to brief myself on this forum's etiquette using the stickies. I also searched my problem on the forum and in the stickies as best I could think to. I had been working on it independently before that too. I thought I read that Bash can combine texture mods so they'll work together, and I tried to read about how to do that, but I was not at all confident that my impressions were correct, so I put that idea on hold. I hope I don't ask this question badly. It seemed like when I was searching for information on Redguard red body spots all I could find was information on green face spots, and now that I need such information I can't find a whit! I have Vista and a fully patched GOTY complete with the UOP, it's Citadel Door Fix (the two go together, right?), OBSE, Wrye Bash, and only SI as "DLC." I think this covers my game's specifics, other than the mods which I will describe shortly. By the way, I don't have every single mod I've tried at hand, so I'm allowing myself a small degree of spelling error; so small I doubt if it will foul anything up, but there you go. I had the above stuff (except Bash), and my Redguard had red patches all over her body. I tried a variety of mesh/texture downloads (I have been quite careful installing and removing them each) independently and in combinations. Perhaps unrelated, I now have the Tamriel NPC Revamp merged into the Bash program. I have Robert's Male Bodies mod because it seemed silly to upgrade my females for this specific issue and leave my male characters hanging. For the red patches, I want to use Ozmo's Hi Rez HGEC bodies (best resolution (?), fewest body discolorations, underwear option), and I also want to use Luchaire's HGEC Body Seam Reducer, because after the red spots the weird neckline is my biggest beef. I have the game running well using these: again, Robert's Male Bodies, Hi Rez HGEC, and Luchaire's HGEC Body Seam Reducer. Before I got the Seam Reducer, I had Enayla's Face Texture hi def-type mod, for which I had put on Natural Faces. As far as I could tell, those don't seem to work with The Seam Reducer, so I sacked them. I'd be very happy to put them back on if someone told me how to make them work together with the other mods that I have to fix the other issues. I also tried Natural Faces DV, but I didn't see a difference from just going without it and I don't even know what the difference was supposed to be, exactly. I also tried Better Redguards, but it isn't compatible with either the HGEC or the Seam Reducer or both. So I removed those mods; just noting I had them so you'll know what I have tried. After that I downloaded Improved Facial Textures. I have part of Improved Facial Textures running fine. I did not replace the main Head[Race].dds files that I need for the Seam Reducer. I am pretty sure the faces are improved anyway, and I don't see a huge neck seam and color gap, so in my book it's running great. I know how to remove it if I need to. So, if I need to sum it up again, the mod combination I have is: Robert's Male Bodies, Hi Rez HGEC, and Luchaire's HGEC Body Seam Reducer, and part of Improved Facial Textures. Now, I am satisfied with my characters look, except for the green spots on her mouth. I honestly don't know anymore if those were there all along or if they're new to some recent combination. Sorry. But I have the impression it's not an uncommon phenomenon, so I'm going under the assumption people will know roughly what I mean: there are bluish-green spots around her lips that I can't seem to get rid of. Is there some way to get rid of those, preferably without bringing back red body patches or huge neck seams/color gaps? I hope this post facilitates your helping me, and thanks in any case! Maigrets
You seem to have done your research and tried about every solution to this issue, but I'll add a few things I know of that may help. I must say though I've never heard of the red spot issue with Redguards, only the green one. :ermm: The trouble is the Redguards use the same textures as the Imperials and therefore Bretons and Nords. It's most likely whatever you do you'll still have some of that green tinge unless you use a custom texture made only for your character and set up as a new race. Ozmo's textures do help, but I've never really seen a solution to the green tinge without custom textures etc as I mentioned above. However, I only use custom races so I don't get this and because I don't like any of the vanilla ones much. You didn't mention Ozmo's Face textures in your post, only the bodies, so I'm not sure you've tried them. They give a very good result actually. With regard to Improved Facial Textures (IFT)...it's better to use the complete mod because it's textures have the correct age maps. You then place other textures like Enayla's or others over the top. I only use IFT and Ozmo's Face textures (as well as body) and the vanilla races look fine. Even my nemesis Rohssan in A Fighting Chance who by default is older, and prone to having the green look herself. She hates me for some reason. Another thing you can try, but it will mean recreating your character's face from scratch. Use the Reset face option before making any adjustments at all, then move the complexion slider all the way from one side to the other and back to where you want it to be. This allows the game to get the correct texture. Then NEVER touch the complexion slider again. One click and all your hard work is down the drain. It does work most times and can even help eliminate the neck line, but I can't say for sure it'll work with Redguards because of the shared textures. I have an Imperial test character I use to test my mods, and I know when I created her, wherever I moved the complexion sliders also affected the Redguard NPC's in game. Another thing that might be useful sometime in case you haven't tried it, is you can change the face with an ongoing save without having to start a new game. Open the console (~) and typing "showracemenu" without the quotes. Make your changes. Once you've finished, DO NOT click on the DONE button, instead, press the ESC key to bring up the game menu and save the game. Then load that save game. This is the safe way to exit the console without messing up your character's stats. Another option is to use Wrye Bash and merge graphics. Bash is a tool, not a mod and has many highly useful functions. It can look daunting at first but if you read the docs carefully and only use the parts you need it's easier.Wrye Bashhttp://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 You could try a complete NPC Replacer. You'll find a few on Tesnexus, but I haven't tried them. They make too many changes away from how the game is intended for me.
Vir
I must say though I've never heard of the red spot issue with Redguards, only the green one. :ermm: When I had even somewhat-dark skin, certain sections of my body (I think the sides of my ribs, for example) looked totally flushed. You didn't mention Ozmo's Face textures in your post, only the bodies, so I'm not sure you've tried them. !! Doh. The file is downloading now... ... Then NEVER touch the complexion slider again. One click and all your hard work is down the drain... I'll make a note, :thanks: Another thing that might be useful sometime in case you haven't tried it, is you can change the face with an ongoing save without having to start a new game... Don't forget to press ~ again so you can save, right? Another option is to use Wrye Bash and merge graphics.... I'd be interested in trying Bash again, but I reinstalled everything from scratch, this time taking on OBMM. Do they work together ok? You could try a complete NPC Replacer. You'll find a few on Tesnexus, but I haven't tried them. They make too many changes away from how the game is intended for me. Like TNR? I really appreciate the information. Thanks for replying. Maigrets
Don't forget to press ~ again so you can save, right? Actually it's not necessary. You can save with the console open and reload immediately. I do it when or if I change hair styles or tweak the face. I'd be interested in trying Bash again, but I reinstalled everything from scratch, this time taking on OBMM. Do they work together ok? Yes, you can use them together. Just make sure to use the Lock Load Times function in Wrye Bash. You'll be asked if you want to do it when you run it for the first time. If you don't do that, every time you run Wrye Bash your load order will change and it is extremely annoying. It depends on the person, but I find OBMM better for ordering my mods. You can also launch the game via OBMM, even with OBSE installed. OBMM checks for OBSE and loads it so you don't need to use the OBSE Launcher.exe if you prefer. That's what I often do (nearly always) when I've been adding mods or changing something around instead of closing OBMM first. I'd forgotten about TNR Races which I had used some time ago, but not lately. It mainly changes faces while the others change hair, eyes and clothing. One of the newer NPC overhauls include Anime replacements for all NPC's if it's your style. I think there are a couple of others as well.

Maigrets
I seem to be having a little trouble finding one of these "complete NPC replacers" for Oblivion. I found some for Morrowind. Could someone recommend and/or link me one? Check out the Categories lists at Tesnexus, specifically Models and Textures, NPC's, Gameplay Effects and Changes. You may have to spend quite some time looking for what you want depending on how the author tagged and named the file. But here are a few. TNR you already know about, and most don't do much for males though. There are some that change individual races by city and guild and others that remake all NPC's or just single ones. Just takes time finding them. NOTE: I haven't used any of these except TNR in the past, so I can't make recommendations. I've found just by using Ozmo's Hi Res textures and my own compilation merge of cosmetic mods for vanilla (hair, eyelashes, eyes & more) the NPC's all look fine to me. I don't take that much notice of them anyway. Plus much more.http://savageartistry.darkbb.com/tes-iv-ob...air-eyes-t4.htm You don't need to register for this version, but for the later updates you will have to.
