BobbyHollowHead
Hey, I'm new to the forums and I figured that perhaps I would start out by telling a story. I'm not entirely sure if that is okay here, but it seems like it is. So a while back I was doing the Bloated Float quest. If you are not familiar with it, it is the quest where bandits steel the boat/tavern from the Imperial Waterfront and you end up in the middle of no where. Before I started the quest I put on the grey cowl of nocturnal to lure a guard into the bloated float. When I was by the bed the guard caught up with me. Of course, I had already taken the cowl off so he simply said "Hello citizen." and started walking away. Now I couldn't just let this guard walk away. I summoned a dremora and punched it three times. The guard heroically spun around to rescue my life. When the guard was fighting with my dremora I "accidently" paralyzed him through "friendly fire". Now I had about 5 seconds. I quickly turned to the bed and slept for about 2 or 3 hours. When I woke up the guard was getting up from the ground and we were out at sea. It was quite easy to kill the first bandit on the lower deck. All I had to do was talk to him and the guard was fighting him for me (ontop of the fact that my character is level 56 and has the right equipment to reflect over 80% of damage and spells anyway). Soon the bandit was dead and I lead the guard up to the main level of the ship using the cowl as a reason for him to follow. The second battle went exactly like the first one, it probably only lasted 6 or 7 seconds. Finally I lead the guard up to the top deck where I ran into the last bandit. The guard valiently fought. It was a fair fight. The bandit was paralyzed on the ground and the guard was screaming "For the emperor!!!" When the battle was over I told the guard good-bye and left him on the top deck. Then I finished up the last part of the quest without him and we sailed the ship home. Now if you know anything about cells in the game, you know that the guard was standing ontop of a boat in the open ocean with no means of return at the end of the quest. I felt proud of myself for successfully removing a guard from the game. I'm not entirely sure he wasn't capable of magically respawning, but I do know at least for the next 3 days there was no way he was coming back. Incidently, if anyone does know if he was capable of magically respawning it would be an interesting fact to know. Thanks for reading,BobbyHollowHead
Maigrets
Nice story. But, yes his clone will return someday to seek revenge on you for leaving him out there with no sea sick pills. Actually, he probably won't even remember since they get a memory wipe every 3 days. :D
bben46
Your basic no name guards respawn when their home cell resets. You may have removed him from the game temporarily, but he will be back. Or a new guard to replace him.Unless you make it a point to revisit his home cell every 3 game days. Or, what is to prevent him from just getting off of the boat when it returns to port? BobbyHollowHead
Or, what is to prevent him from just getting off of the boat when it returns to port? The door back onto the ship is disabled.
