Serana agrees to get cured, won't leave

Serana has agreed to get cured, and says something like, "I'm going to go away for awhile, I'll see you when I get back." ...Then doesn't go anywhere. Worst of all she can no longer be interacted with, she just says that one line when clicked on or within talking distance to player. Unfortunately I kept on playing and a pre-bug save file is too far in the past.

These are the installed mods that I think could effect it:

- Unofficial Dawnguard update
- AFT (she is managed with this)
- My home is your home (she was told that breezeway was her home)
- Breezeway home Fullyupgradeable (all upgrades purchased)

I've tried uninstalling "my home is your home" via NMM but it did not work.

I've tried Reseting her AFT via the spell, but it did not work

Any other ideas? I know next to nothing about console commands, are there any that would help?

Thank you in advance for any advise!

I recently had this problem fortunatley i saw this site so now i can help you guys as well. As you guys were playing with AFT (amazing follower tweaks) I was as well. It some how messes up the script so all you need to do is run the normal skyrim once presented with the launcher click on data files or something like that. Click on AFT and disable it. After just return to your origional game through SKSE or whatever your using. She should immediatly leave as she did for me wait three to for days and she'll be in fort dawnguard cured. Word of warning AFT allows more than one follower so if you have more than one dismiss then otherwise it causes weird glitches. Glad to help B-) :-p

I encountered the same problem the worst case is that I am having CTD's too. The mod that is causing that bug is the AFT, Unfortunately the save file you are using right now is messed up even if you uninstall AFT. I fixed that problem by loading my old save.

Well It's nice to know as this fixed it but it also f*#@ed up my game, now whenever i use AFT it says there is an incompatibility issue with the saves so the system is like only half working at best.

My advice really to anyone is don't get her cured she will leave you when asked and won't need you to f*#@ around with the AFT mod, besides nothing really changes when she is cured, no vampire eyes and the sun don't bother her and her combat style/skills are pretty much the same.

And you can't marry her even if you do cure her so no need to.

I know this is way late, but I just encountered this problem and have found a solution that works without having to uninstall any mods and doesn't cause any bugs.

Reset AFT by using the Tweak Commands ability and then going to Tools. That's where the Reset AFT option is. Click it and follow through with it! Save when it tells you to at the end!

Then you load that final save and wait for three to four days and Serena appears at Fort Dawnguard. Then alls you have to do is pick her up and Summon All Followers to regain your lost buds.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I have the same issue in Skyrim SE. The only add-on I'm using for Serana just changes her appearance, and nothing else. I'm not using any follower tweaks of any kind. I've played through Dawnguard twice with the same result. When I reach the end of the dialogue, and she agrees to be cured, she never leaves, and has no dialogue options. She just says "I'll see you when I get back". If I dismiss her before having the conversation, the option to discuss the cure is not there.
