dm3rd
Hi I upgraded my gfx card yesterday from a ati 4870 to an ati r7 260x ocI've had a few issues but most I have sorted out but the ones relating to skyrim/fallout and enb has me stumped. with my 4870 both skyrim and fallout 3 ran with enb's.. albit slow.. fallout 3 was mostly playable skyrim suffered too much in open area's at times. after I upgraded to the 260x neither will run past the main menu without crashing, they also take 2 maybe 3 times longer to laod as well. the enb's I used hadn't changed since swapping cards fallout 3 jsut crashed when done laoding but would load up fine without hte enb installed. skyrim ran with the enb but wouldn't load the enb into the game.. it had all the enb stamps when first loaded up but none of the effects. then I upgraded the d3d9.dll and it would then crash. I cleaned out my old drivers before I installed my new card and installed the latest drivers from amd's site.I have an amd phenom II x4 oc'd to 3.7Ghz8Gb of ramasrock 970 extreame3 moboand the r7 260x oc version. both games run without the enb's but crash when they are installed. another strange issue i'm trying to find out about is that i've had games crash when I switch off my second screen while they're loaded.. which I can't explain. edit: I forgot to mention skyrim and fallout also reports my card as a 6670.. not sure why. I had one installed for a short while but it performed less than the 4870 so i removed it also. Edited June 7, 2014 by dm3rd
camaro_69_327
Hi,First thing to try... In your .........\Documents\My Games\Skyrim folder are 3 files, "Renderinfo.txt" , "Skyrim.ini" and "Skyrimprefs.ini" , Delete or move all three files out of that folder. Run the "default game launcher". It will recreate all 3 files, should say..Detecting game settings " or some such (been awhile ) . Both Renderinfo.txt and Skyrimprefs.ini, list what GPU the game detects. After generating new ini files don't forget to change the line>."bFloatPointRenderTarget=0" , to 1 in the Skyrimprefs.ini (for ENB to work). Ok skyrim loads to the menu but the enb isn't taking effect still Edited June 7, 2014 by dm3rd
DeltaAgent26
You will have to have to uninstall the enb, as the new card is not compatible with your current D3D9.dll file you are using for the game. Uninstall all ENB*.* files from your Skyrim installation folder. And reinstall the ENB(s) that correspond with your new graphics card. Also one other thing that might help you is Sheshon's Memory patch.Watch this video on how it works, and how to install it.:
camaro_69_327
And reinstall the ENB(s) that correspond with your new graphics card. Their is only one kind of ENB. it does not matter if you have Nvidia, Amd or Intel integrated...its all the same ENB...Current is 254.

Their is only one kind of ENB. it does not matter if you have Nvidia, Amd or Intel integrated...its all the same ENB...Current is 254. this is true, but there are different D3D9.DLLs to choose from, and one of which must be installed for the OPs card. I just recently re-installed enb using the 254, however, there are several folders in the .zip file. And the D3D9.dlls in those folders correspond to different types of cards whether AMD or nVidia, and also depending on the amount of dedicated onboard memory the card the OP is using... I also am using ENBoost (504) which I believe uses or utilizes the 254 [runtime?], but it has the different d3d9.dlls for memory allocation and such for Sheson's memory patch. So the OP would have to go through them manually, and copy/past the correct D3D9.dll file into his skyrim main folder. I don't know where you get yours but all the enb's I've downloaded from the dev's site have only had options for wrapper or injected.

IF you cant Run the wrapper because of ..Crap card , Optimus Laptop, then you need to use the Injector version. Injector Folder...Does not have a DLL .it uses a seperate EXE called "ENBInjector.exe" with an ...ENBInjector.INI .....no DLL. "enbseries.dll" didn't see that dll. but still not a d3d9 one...lol Only one.d3d9.dll. (for ENB). EDIT because their is a dll but not a d3d9dll....
