Mithelemir1
Hi, I am trying to install some DAO mods on a friend's computer. These mods work perfectly fine on my Windows XP machine, but on my friend's Vista boxr the icons for .dazip files appear as if they were unknown file types and the daupdater.exe does not even allow my to drop them into its installation window. My guess is that some filter may be preventing the files from being recognized. Since I am not familiar with Vista, however, I am not sure where to start looking for the problem. I have already tried running daupdater as administrator but this made no difference. Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks.
DarkeWolf
interesting. I have no problems with the dazip folders on my vista box.try installing a full blown compression program, like peazip 7zip, etc. perhaps your friends box doesnt have the compression codex for zip files. (which would be extremely odd!!!)if that fails, try making a copy of the folders. rename them from .dazip to just .zip and then try to install them. also, dont use daupdater. it's crap in comparison to da modmanager http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=286 edit- also.... are these downloaded copies? Or copies off of a cd? if they are off a cd, they will be read only. you'd need to copy them off the cd, then right click on them/properties/advanced/ check the archive then click ok.
