I am so terribly apologetic about this thread you have no idea. I would have explained this in the thread it originated from but I did not want to hijack it so that being said I hope you don't mind and here it is.

Also do not look badly on Lonewolf_kai this is not directed at him, I quoted him because it just struck me as an odd thing to pick out of a thread.

Lol, I'm just poking fun of your post. You said you only [bothered to] read half the posts on this topic and it struck me funny in a slightly offensive way. Why should someone read all of your posts if you're not going to bother reading theirs?

Don't take me serious though. I'm just joshing.

 

This is exactly the reason why these boards can never have any type of comment made by anyone without somebody taking offense to something someone says in some convoluted way.

 

I read about half of the posts on this thread then did a search after watching the trailer...

 

I think by my enthusiasm from the general topic and my closing sentence that one could surmise that I got possibly excited and wanted to find info for myself? But no instead people always think that when some one makes a comment about something or an off hand (not an off color) remark (which are not offensive btw) that somehow there is a deeper meaning. That somehow within a persons words lurks a subliminal message that is directed at them or others.

 

Now taking overt signs of hate and direct insults out of the equation. I read a lot of the posts on here and I see people getting offended by things that just astound me. People offended by an avatar picture that's meant to be funny. People offended by a joke. People offended by just the thought that someone could think differently than they do. I believe this stems from people being thin-skinned and or actively looking for some hidden insult or meaning. I have two examples of such people and thinking.

 

IE: The perspective that just because you are not active in stopping racism means you are a racist. Which to me is absolutely absurd but people have the right to feel however they want, if that is their belief system then so be it.

 

And

 

A little thing called Brain Drain which basically means when a person comes to the United States or United Kingdom to go to school and after returning to their country of origin and working to pay back their loans to that country they choose to move to the US or UK in order to live and work. Brain Drain comes into play because then the US and UK are blamed for taking Doctors, Lawyers, Scientists and several other types of people from the original country that needs those people more. The complaining country ignores the fact that if those individuals that were offered high dollar to come back to the US and UK felt morally wrong about it they would not do it. But instead they blame the UK and US for their country not having the Doctors and lawyers….

 

What do those two examples have to do with what I am talking about? It is the absurdity of the notions within them. And the fact that you have to look pretty hard and with a convoluted way of thinking to arrive at those conclusions.

 

Before I make an assessment of someone based on their posting I will (if it really interests me) go read other posts they have made. If the person is like me who is not offensive, does not go out of their way to be offensive or rude to people, has never bashed anyone or flamed them then in good judgment I can make a rational determination that the person in question probably did not mean whatever it is I thought they meant in a certain post. Then again there really is not much that bothers me.

 

I don't make threats, I don't flame people and when people PM me with flaming and or ignorance I just block them or turn off my PM's like I did 2 days ago. I am however the type of person that will ignore you, stick up for myself and get mods involved if I see that what is going on could possibly affect the community. I am not trying to be a toughie but if I had something to say whether it was an insult, a judgment or an abusive comment I would just say it because by the time it got to the point where I would do that I would not care.

 

So if from now on anyone who reads my posts and thinks I am being a female dog or that there is some hidden meaning behind my words meant to insult or flame someone, think twice because as hard as you look and as convoluted as you can think there is not any malice intended. Just a fact, I will never again explain in a post what I have written in that post if someone gets offended by what i have written. If someone takes something I said and has questions about it then they can PM me. Unless asked by a mod for clarification I will not give one in a thread. I grow weary of the bickering I see in these forums which believe it or not is worse than in other forums I belong to that do not have this level of scrutiny by the mods and I refuse to add to the discomfort of what 12 mods? That have better things to do with their time than baby sit and put out fires. Just a thought but maybe get rid of the debates section? I understand healthy debating however...

 

This really is not directed at you Kai however your making a retraction of "just joshing" is just an after the fact oops back peddle. As anyone that looks into my posting history will find that I am not a troublemaker and I say what I mean and mean what I say. And I will not hide behind the hope that someone will catch a cleverly disguised insult or derogatory comment.

 

People please stop taking things so seriously. Loosen up, huge amount of information pours into this site, this site probably sees more traffic than any other site on the internet. I think rather than increase the time we keep the mods away from them being able to enjoy the community and play the games they want to play, we should start policing ourselves.

 

Think before you post. Not everything is about you. Not everyone has a hidden agenda.

I like people who say what they realy mean and you seem just one of them. ;)

 

I know I quoted the post I left on your profile, but this is exacly the way I think to. I like people who say WHAT they have to say without hidden meanings. I know our moderators and I trust their judgement. I don't think any of them would mind if you or any other person would say the truth(simple!) if you say it polite and without personal attacks. Things like this happen, becouse we are not face to face and even the simple things can be confusing sometimes. I've red some of your posts and I've seen nothing but the truth spoken and I'm not taking sides.
