Weapons refuse to equip

I just sold my 360 version of Fallout 3 to purchase the GOTY edition and it seems the game is full of bugs. I fixed most, but I've gotten up to the part in Vault 101 where you have to escape and the game will not let me equip weapons. I go into the Pipboy and click on the weapons so the little square appears showing it's equiped. When I exit the pipboy however, the little square goes away when your pulling the pipboy away from your face and weapons are not equiped. Any suggestions?

 

 

EDIT: It seems I have to wait 5 seconds or so before clothing or weapons are equiped. It's annoying, but as of now, not a large proublem.

You can do a whole lot more with the PC version of the game, but that comes at a cost. Which is the cost of the large amount of set up an just plain boring work which you have to do to get it to run smooth.

 

There's a whole lot of things you can do which will either make it look better, run faster, or even stuff it was never designed to do.
