BegunValkery
Why did they have to implement medieval style (or whatever Elder Scrolls was) aspects to a futuristic sci-fi RPG? I expected full-on originality of the original Fallout games, considering that we had no other choice but to put our full confidence that Bethesda would at least use a much better engine. I simply have to wait for an animation to finish in order to perform another one. I want to be able to cancel actions and have more immersion like Battlefield or even Call of Duty. I already see a ton of Elder Scroll elements in Fallout 3 and New Vegas: tribal-like people, a lot of spears and low-tech elements of weapons, and areas that have NO relation to a post-apocalyptic themed world. If you play S.T.A.L.E.R. then you can see a huge difference with actual wasteland-ish and decimated landscapes. I truly wish that Interplay and GSC would work together and once again make a true Fallout. Face it, Bethesda is specialized in olde-time games, do you really think that they have the potential AND deserve to take a totally opposite game from another company and put their own opposite elements into the game? Rational314
Tribals have always existed in the Fallout world, as have low tech weaponry, so that's not Bethesda. Not to mention Fallout is Retro sci-fi versus futuristic. Not sure what you mean by areas that have no relation to a post-apocalyptic theme, since pretty much anything can exist in that particular theme. Call of Duty, and Battlefield are hardly immersive but to each their own. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is a more recent and different type of decimation versus the nuclear war that happened hundreds of years prior in Fallout. As for interplay and GSC making a true Fallout, GSC is a dead FPS dev, and Interplay made an isometric RPG. So I'm not sure how the two of them would make a "true" Fallout. Seems you've actually forgotten what Fallout is. Bethesda makes first person RPGs. Fallout has always been an RPG, and not a Call of Duty/Battlefield clone. Though Bethesda completely owns the the rights to Fallout so it doesn't really matter what people think in the end. If they want to make more Fallout games they'll make more Fallout games. PS. Bethesda didn't make New Vegas, Obsidian did.
ducttapetoiletpaper
tribal-like people, a lot of spears and low-tech elements of weaponsYou do realize that after a devastating nuclear apocalypse, about 90% of civilization has to be rebuilt all over again?
