Character Data Transfer

Hello all,

 

So, I don't know if this is possible, or if it is possible if it is achievable without tedious transcription... but I would really like to keep the basic data of my character, i.e. quests completed, levels attained, skills/stats raised, and ideally most of the gear/money/spells found and bought,etc. ... BUT I would like to do a fresh install of oblivion with some fresh mods, I've been modding for quite a while and things are starting to get muddled...

 

Is this possible?

Just save Your savegame (My dokuments/my games/Oblivion), then reinstall Oblivion and copy Your save back into the Oblivion folder!

If you do plan to start fresh, but still want to use the old saved games, you should take in consideration that if you don't use all the mods you used in your previous game errors may occur. Sometimes even if you don't use some of the mods, like weapon, armour mods that you used previously, the game will work, but something it will crash when you will try to load the saved game. Use Oblivion Mod Manager to see exactly what mods you had installed when you made those saves.

I use the ship alternate start too, and I love starting over as well on some levels, but I absolutely hate having to go through things like the mage guild start up quests and the "standard" non-storyline quests that I do every single time. Basically I want to make a demon or dremora character but I want to be at the same point in the game that I am at now.

 

I want to be able to make a different character, but with the same progress... I really don't know what I want LOL!
