Jenrai
Heya fellas; Two things. Firstly - Did you download the Francesco's New Items & Creatures BSAs? The seperate, somewhat larger file, it contains all the meshes and textures. If you didn't downoad it, get it. Secondly, have you recently rebuilt your .ini? Doing so will 'unregister' the BSA from your Oblivion .ini, causing it to fail to load. Open your Oblivion.ini (also known as a configuration file) in the My Documents -> My Games -> Oblivion folder. Not the one in the default directory. Don't tamper with that unless you know exactly what you are doing. Hell... don't tamper with it anyways. Back on topic. Search the .ini for the word "Archive" ... this should take you to the BSA section of your .ini, where you will see the default Oblivion BSA's loaded. Things like Oblivion-Textures.BSA. Is there a line for Fran's BSA present? If not, navigate to your data folder, and find the Fran's BSA. Write down its name exactly as it is shown. I think its Franewitems.bsa, at least in English, but don't quote me on that. Add the name as you wrote it to the end of the archive line. make sure there's no full stop/periods ( these = . ) on the end of the line, but a comma instead, and add the name AFTER the last default BSA. If it is: Look at the start of the name of the Fran's BSA. Or rather, right before it. There should be a comma ( one of , ) there. My bet is that you'll see a comma AND a full stop. Delete the full stop. That tells Oblivion it can stop loading BSAs. It is in fact, completely redundant because of the way Oblivion operates - just don't register the BSA if you don't want it to load. Shimple. Hope that helps.Jenrai

chaospearl
I'm 90% sure the problem is that you haven't downloaded the file with the textures and meshes BSA. For some reason, it's NOT in the files section of the Nexus download for the multilanguage Fran's. I just checked and there's only one file there; the mod itself. The BSA file is hosted at Planet Elder Scrolls website; I think the file is too big for the Nexus. The info at Nexus says to download it there (at the mirror, which is PES) if you want the optional new armors and weapons, but it doesn't mention the fact that you have to download it anyway if you're using Fran's new items\creatures part of the mod. If you only downloaded 1 file, then you need to also download the other file separately, that is what fills in the missing items so you don't get yellow exclamations. Go here: Francesco's at Planet Elder Scrolls Scroll to the bottom of the page and download the SECOND file, the one that says Francesco's Optional. It's a self-installing exe so just click on it after downloading. That should fix your problem. PS. You're not a 'tard at all (man I hate that term). At least, I had the exact same problem for over a month and I'm sure that I'm not one! I ended up unchecking the two esps that contain the new items and creatures because I couldn't get my game to load and didn't know why. Like I said, the problem is that the description doesn't tell you that you have to download the second file to use the creatures and items -- it says it's for the armors and weapons, which I didn't want cause I was a noob and wanted the least complicated installation options possible -- and that file isn't even available unless you go to the mirror. Fran's was one of the first mods I ever downloaded and installed and I had no idea there was another file hosted on another site. The mod is a self-install exe and it has no readme included in the download. Not sure about you, but I generally download mods a bunch at a time, grabbing whatever looks interesting from the description, THEN look for the readme when I'm ready to install my new stuff, at which point it's probably a day or two later and I've long since closed the download page. It doesn't occur to me that a mod won't have a readme included with the file -- if there's nothing in the archive along with the other files, I assume there is no readme. The readme IS available by clicking a link on the description page, but here's the kicker -- it doesn't tell you that you have to download two files. It's a gigantic amount of information that explains every teensy little bit of how the mod works and what it adds... except the most important detail, the fact that you NEED the textures and meshes BSA file for it to work. There's even a special section with Installation Notes highlighted in bright blue so you can't possibly miss it even if you're skimming, but it still doesn't tell you! I was having the same problem and stumbled across this thread (thank you google). Anyway, I never would have figured that out on my own, i can barely work with OBMM.
