silverstar
After ploughing about 80 hours into the game so far, reaching level 28 and looking over my stats... I've decided that something that's needed in the game, are potions or something, to permanently raise your base stats. The reason why I've realized this, is because even with my intel nearly maxed, I only have a whopping 200MP, which isn't nearly high enough to make real power spells, to go off and fight with. I want to make a spell that basically screams OVERKILL when I cast it, even if it eats up every last one of my MP in the process... but as it is, I can't even see how I'm supposed to get up enough MP to cast some of the spells I can purchase, as most of my magic schools are sitting at Expert or Master and I can't even cast the ones you can normally buy. :/ So, anyone thinking of making potions that can be found on certain monsters, perhaps just a redesign of an existing one that requires a higher level to hope to defeat, and in the process make it worth it? Maybe a Rat scaled to double size with tons of health and a powerful attack, with a guaranteed drop of one or more potions, at random? :)
Mazgazine
Yeah I have also found the Magic system kinda, unbalanced.. I wonder why they thought of making the magic like this. Instead of a permenant stat boosts, how's about an overhaul of the magic system?
silverstar
Yeah I have also found the Magic system kinda, unbalanced.. I wonder why they thought of making the magic like this. Instead of a permenant stat boosts, how's about an overhaul of the magic system? That'd probably be a lot more work... but could be far more valuable. As it is, there's pretty much no real reason to MAKE more powerful combat spells, for anything short of the time it takes to cast them. You don't get any MP savings for making the big, bad spells, compared to the lower, cheaper ones. But, if someone did introduce permanent stat potions, they might also have to find a way to let buffs over 100 have effect... Also, maybe have an actual connection between a skill and the quality of a spell, for magic? If Illusion is strongly connected to Personality, why is it I can be a master of Illusion and only have 30-40 personality? At least that's something that has been addressed with mods.
