So after trying to make one small adjustment to the fallout.ini file I seem to have completely screwed with my game. It all started after I decided that I wanted to increase the number of grids loaded around my character, so I used the advanced tweaking guide to alter uGridsToLoad, uIn/Exterior Cell Buffer, and iPreloadSizeLimit. I changed those settings, loaded the game, and my frame rate saw a bit of a drop so I decided I would scrap the change for now. I deleted the .ini file and reloaded the Fallout launcher to reset my settings (I should have made a backup, but I did not [i will next time]) and get back into the game. However, now when I load the game, my mods are all sorts of f***ed up. The mods are definitely being loaded into the game, but they just aren't having the effect they're supposed to. I took some screenshots to show as examples: http://i.imgur.com/KeuAggg.jpg Here, you can clearly see that darnified UI clearly hasn't altered the UI to the correct size (the fonts in the ini are correct, and the darnified esp is installed and loaded). My weapon has the incorrect texture (it is provided by FWE, which the quest clearly demonstrates is installed [all of the inventory mod configuration items are also there and working], the sky is not being altered by Project Reality, even though again, it is installed. http://i.imgur.com/bwDxQjU.jpg Here, I'm demonstrating that for some mods (the weapon mod kits in this case) you can still see the pipboy image for them. Could this be an issue with something that has changed in the fallout.ini? I tried unninstalling and reinstalling FWE to see if it might load things back into the game, but it didn't work. The last thing I will try is unninstalling the entire game, reinstalling all the mods, and loading the save game. I'm not that bad at modding F3, and I've got good experience doing the same on NV and Skyrim, but this has just completely stumped me. I can't find any glaring errors in F3edit either! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FWE to see if it might load things back into the game, but it didn't workthat was a mistake because now other than a single ini file, you have dramatically altered a ton more files, no longer sitting on the drive in the right sequence to match any saved games you have made. The last thing I will try is unninstalling the entire game, reinstalling all the mods, and loading the save game. (and loading the save game) Is now toast.is there any way to roll back that hard drive before you made any changes such as reinstalling the mods? I see no mention of mod handlers ,like fomm / nmm/ Mo mod. etc...Fomm can uninstall all the mods and you can clean the OS registry, reboot and put all the data right back where it was. Nexus mod manager will do the very same thing. Mod Organizer will Isolate these kinds of mistakes and makes it really easy to fix.where your at now? is a bad place to be. that saved game has the ini tweaks stuck in it, if you saved earlier saved games, you stand a good chance of recovery with those than what you currently want, it is done now and it's too late to fix it. FWE is very big, it is Game starting point #1 at birth schene even so its like you already uninstalled the Entire game. Mod over hauls kits are not simple mods, they are Game re-placers. Fallout Wanderers Edition any Breed, Fook / Fook 2 ,same thing. so load up an earlier saved game and go back in and see. But prior to this, clean out the registry of the operating system, get back on track. you Do need to do this because the DLC packs have been backed up by the system in a hidden directory.
