Modifying a Sorter plugin

Hello again. Just wondering if there's a tutorial or something available that would tell me how to go about modifying an existing sorter plugin. I'm using the one in RR Companions Vault, but it's leaving a lot of stuff behind (custom weapons and clothing/armor). I'd like to be able to go in and add stuff to its sort methodology, but don't know how.

 

Is there an easy (relatively easy) way of doing so?
