Felkroth
Aah, a chance to advertise myself! :P I made this mod a while agohttp://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=2108 It allows you to travel from town to town, but only after you've visited that town.I hope that's the kind of solution people were looking for ;)
Loud Abnoxious Sigh
So, it's basically another version of fast travel? :glare:
Felkroth
So, it's basically another version of fast travel? :glare: I guess that's one way to put it :PStill, you don't have a free access to every town to begin with and you can only travel from a town to another, can't just teleport from middle of nowhere ;)

clintonius
I think it would be better if you make it so that it works in conjuntion with Fast Travel instead of replacing it. I would still like the option of Fast Travel if I wanted to speed things up. Thank you.
broseph
well if someone made a mod that had boats along the rivers to all little locations along the river and horse drawn carriages to most remote locations it would just be more... i dont know epic? i now see that most of you enjoy fast travel, but face it, its pretty much a built in cheat, it allows you to go to places youve never been to immediately. and when they spend so much time making that sweet landscape people should get to know the routes and stuff instead of just having to find a place once and having infinite immediate access to the area. i guess it would just be a mod for more adventurous people
Killians5
alrightfirst- you have to explore all before you can go everywherewhich tells u probably only heard about major cities.second-everyoe in morrowind was whining because the fast travel was too limitedi think people really dont know what they want on this forum and are just complaining to complain (maybe to make sense to their lives which is sad)With the exception of the make sense of their lives thing I would have to agree with this. About half the thread on here are just being made to complain about the game instead of discussing it, and in alot of those cases I think that if you really look at the complaints they seem like almost impossible to please demands. I also recall people complaining because you had to use mark and recall so much and mods being made for multiple marks and everyone was downloading it. Also people were complaining because you had to pay to go to 4 diffrent places to be able to travel to one. They answer that complaint and people want mods to go back to the other way? Cyborg16
Why do you think everyone's just complaining? Some people like it one way, and some another. We all know that bethesda designed Oblivion to make money, i.e. how the most people are going to like it. I say it's certainly a lot better than it could have been... if there was no fast travel at all it would probably be worse for most people. I personally agree with what several of you are saying: I prefer the morrowind travel system where you use a public transport system from only some places. The Oblivion fast travel system can, unfortunately, be used to cheat: fast travel past any wolves/bandits/mountain lions etc that are on a road. There one other fundamental difference between the travel system in Oblivion and the mage's teleportation in MW: the teleportation is instantaneous, while the fast travel takes world time (can be annoying e.g. if you're trying to get to the shops in another city before they close --- I don't just like to wait all night for them to open again). Which brings me onto the topic of game time speed, but that would be offtopic...
