Turn off flames when sword is sheathed

I looked at what Nico had done with his Scimitars and understand the general concept of having 2 models of the same weapon, one with flames and one without that the script switches in the players inventory based on if the weapon is drawn or sheathed. I tried to just modify his script that only looks to one weapon instead of his dual weapon and to use the names of my sword (replaced the ID of the sword with mine and the sheathed version with my sheathed version ID) instead of his. I couldn't get it to work right. My character either won't be able to draw the flaming weapon at all (just draws the unflaming sheathed model) or just sits there and draws the weapon over and over and over again.

While it is not the end of the world that the flames bleed out of the sheath, I know it is possible to do so would like to if one of you would be so kind to help. I know this is a lot to ask, but if I could just have a script for each (the sword and the sheathed sword) written where the ID's could just be changed.....I am sure if this were made and then posted as a modder's resource, there would be many grateful modders other than me. It would be nice to have a generic script like that where simply changing the IDs in the appropriate place could work for all flaming swords.

Thanks in advance,

There is infact a modders resource that will do just what you need. I used it for my mod to do the same thing you are.

Nice little scripts, deceptively simple.

Thank you!

This is going to increase the quality of my mods. Now I just have to get off my lazy bum and apply the script lol.

I will be using your jedi saber fix as well. I am going to scale the size of the handle down as well as the width of the blade for that mod though....too big. I am also going to make them VERY durable. The light blades shouldn't wear out IMO.

I cant agree more.

But Im new to modding , and only being a fix, I didnt mess with anything else. Just made a bladeless hilt nif and added these scripts to electionis previously existing mod. (trust me, he wont mind if you alter them, just give him credit for his work)
