Animal Race/mod

hello, first off im new around here, and im not sure if this idea has been put forward before but if it hasnt i think its a pretty interesting idea (if i do say so myself :D ).

 

I want to make a mod where instead of been a breton, orc, woddelf etc, you can instead choose to be an animal, like a bear or a wolf or maybe even a rat.

 

i have a few ideas like if you were a wolf character you would have to hunt for food, either out in the wild or raiding the farms and killing sheep, or you could hang around the city outskirts scavenging for scraps, or if you were a bear you would live in the wild been chased by hunters.

 

If anyone has read things like watership down or any of the redwall books by Brian Jaques you can sort of get an idea of what sort of quests you could have (animals at war, fearing the humans blah blah that sort of thing).

 

Anyway i could go on forever i would like to know if this is possible, any help or ideas would be appreciated
