New Mods

OOOOO OOOO I thought of something else!

When a user wants to create a new mod, if they have uploaded less than, say, 5 in total... they should be re-directed to a page that gives "TIPS" on mod page creation.

Here's some initial thoughts on this:

1) Include some or all of the articles on "Releasing Files" pertaining to new mods.

2) Remind people to name their files something relevant. Not "HOLY CRAP CHEESE!" for a gun mod, unless of course that gun shoots cheese, is made of cheese, or gives the player free crackers to go with said cheese... But even then thats a streach...

3) Remind people (as I have been lately on the comments sections of individual author's pages), to name their DOWNLOAD file the same as the mod title. I have files in my tracking centre named things like "Bob's Hammer of Death", but the file name is either "WhackEmStick9000" or "Hammer_v1". I simply don't think authors realize that the name of the download file is what the name is on the file downloaded, regardless of what they name it on their own PC before upload.

4) DEMAND that the name of the ESP or ESM IS ABSOLUTELY the same as the mod. I have many files that are compelety different from the zip download, which is different from the actual title of the uploaded file. MY GOD MAN!!!

The real problem with the second and third suggestions is that when I go to look for updates, I have no idea where to start. Mod "BobsUnderwearMod.esp" in my data folder has no corresponding zip file name in my download folder. So I go on a search safari. Finally finding it under "SoAndSo-UnderwearRetex-#####", I sigh a sigh of relieving sighs. Then I go onto Nexus and look in my favorites (tracking) list for the SoAndSo-UnderwearRetex mod, but alas there isn't any such name. At times it is as simple as the mod being named "The Ultimate SoAndSo-UnderwearRetex", placing it not under "S" as it should be, but rather under "T". But more often than not, the file name is something like "Revamped GIMP file Retex for body addon". WTF?!?

Some of the more popular mods I've learned to look for something different, but I shouldn't have to (and neither should anyone else for that matter).

Thanks for your time!
