Hello,

i have upgraded oblivion to 1.2 and there are textures missing (the spectral reaver, ghost warrior and night mother from the last DB quest are invisible), also if i use distant terrain , the floor near my charether turns pink.

And when i use one companion mode or have 1 NPC following me and fast travel, i get a bug were the NPC gets 2 faces, or if change the armor of the npc it uses the 2 textures at the same time.

Sorry for my bad english.

Your english is just fine. :)

I'm kind of shooting into the dark, but try these quick tips.

First, restore your .ini file. It's located under Documents/My Games/Oblivion directory, simply titled "Oblivion." Either delete it or-if it's already edited, simply name it something else (like oblivion_backup.ini).

Also, try using this tool: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10724

If you're still having problems... you may want to try reinstalling the game. The best way to back up your saves is to bring them to an interior that doesn't have too much going on (like a ruin) and save the game. Then shut off all the mods except the necessary ones (your characters' race, hair or eyes, etc.) and load it back up. Save as a new file. That'll be your "clean" backup for your new, freshly installed game. Good luck!

Unless you have a corrupt patch, these kind of problems do not come from the patch. Missing textures and meshes are usually from mods.

For troubleshooting - try this: Here is my revert to vanilla article - how to go back to the original state without reinstalling.

Thanks for the help.

Im going to try your advices

Im going to try to put a screenshoot of the pink floor glitch.

I think the base of the problem is that when i try to patch my oblivion with 1.1 patch or 1.2 patch i got a error saying that one file is missing and i will install anyway.

I have been playing with distant land off to avoid the floor texture glitch, because the patch 1.2 is needed to play almost all mods.

If you used your old patch download, redownload it. The download was corrupt, with missing files.

Also make sure your graphics card drivers and direct X is bang up to date. Generally this won't cause missing texture errors (purple/pink objects) but it can cause your card to struggle to process what should be on the screen and that can cause all sorts of freakiness, and in extreme cases, eventually frag the card.

I finaly solved the problem. I just installed shivering isles, and the game is good now.

But now i have another problem. I installed shivering isles in the 2 hard drives i have with oblivion and in one of them the game is runing fine but in another i cant even load a game .

How did i remove shivering isles? did the SI patch solve this problem?

I need a savegame with a vanilla race with the main mission already finished for mod testing purposes.

and i also need good tutorials to work with the construction set.

Any advice?

There are 2 versions of the 1.2 patch. One for Oblivion, and a separate one for SI. If you have SI DO NOT use the one for Oblivion. and if you have SI DO NOT use the one for Oblivion. If you have SI, install SI first, then the SI patch. the SI patch has all of the stuff in the Oblivion patch. If you install the Oblivion patch, then try to install the SI patch you get the message. If you install the Oblivion patch, then SI, either it crashes or you get the purple ground bug.

Since you have SI, you only need the 1.2 SI patch and NO other official patches should be applied.

The unofficial patches are not really patches, but mods. They do not make any changes to the actual game files.

You can only have one copy of Oblivion on your computer. But there is a way to have 2 - or maybe even more separate sets of saves, mods etc.

Here is a link to my dual Oblivion article.

for a save game with what you want look in the Saved Games category. Most are vanity type, but there should be at least one like you want in the thousand or so available.

A quick look found these:

Si completed http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19069

Sewers end http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14682

As for tutorials, the best is the Wiki http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...livion_Mods_FAQ

:thanks:

Yes, all of the patch stuff from the stand alone Oblivion 1.2 patch is included in the SI 1.2 patch. You must install SI first though.

Install Oblivion, start the game and make a save - this sets up and saves the Oblivion.ini that is needed.

Then Install SI, and start the game and make a save again - you don't have to go into shivering isles as long as you make a save with SI installed.

Now install the 1.2 SI patch, start the game and make sure it works - Make a save to lock it in

This would be a very good time to make a back up of your data folder, saves folder and Oblivion.ini file.

Make a folder outside of Oblivion, copy the data folder, saves folder and Oblivion.ini into them. Then instead of a complete reinstall, you can rename all of the existing data, saves and ini, then copy (do not move) the back up into the game in their place.
