More mesh help needed

thank you, I'll tinker with it & post my results later. Did you get it to appear ingame?

Also, in what cases do you not check collision? I noticed you don't have it checked. Why do you have Accum Notes Checked? I heard its use wasn't identified yet. Finally, when using "Remove Extra Bones" option I sometimes get the message "cannot delete child nodes" or something similar.

Yup it appeared fine in game.

About the collision i usually just open a mesh similar to the one i´m editing(armor, static, body etc) in nifskope and see if it has collision in it, if it does i check to see what kind and try to replicate that(i think there are some tutorials on the CS wiki about what type of collision to use in each case), if it doesn´t have it i don´t put any either. If you open the original BeltGirl01.nif you´ll see that it does´t have the BSXFlags block wich is what controls collision and animation(i think,i´m still learning too :P ).

About accum nodes i usually leave that checked but for no particular reason lol i really don´t know what it does exactly but i read somewhere that its important when you want to export animations and since having it checked never caused me any troubles i just leave it on. You can probably do without it if you want.

As for the "remove extra bones" option i also started keeping that one on because of file comparison, if you look at any vanilla armor or body mesh in nifskope you´ll see that they only have the bones used by the skin of that particular mesh. From what i read in the niftools site this is done to achieve a slight performance boost. I´m sure i´ve also seen the "cannot delete child nodes" message a few times before but if i remember correctly i came to the conclusion that i was doing something wrong, though right now i don´t remember what it was

By the way you should probably check out the niftools site if you haven´t yet. They have a lot of info on nif import/export settings in max and lots of other usefull tutorials.

When you try it let me now if you can get the mesh to appear in game without problems.

Hope that helps.

see you around
