I´m not sure i understood

You can´t get the nif format option in the blender import menu right?

Did you follow everything the tutorial said? What version of python, PyFFI, blender and NIF scripts did you install?did they all get installed without errors or anything?

Okay, here's what I did. I followed the installation tutorial from introduction through to where it talks about installing with the older version of Blender. I downloaded the files it recommended and then installed them in the order they recommended. First I uninstalled all instances of Blender, Cobra, Nif Tools, Etc. Then I did a system clean up and rebooted the computer. Then I did this, as instructed in the tutorial:

Downloading

First of all you need to download the following, don't install anything yet.

* Blender from blender.org get the Blender 2.49b Installer (8 MB) for Windows. It has DDS support.

* Python from python.org get the Python 2.6.4 Windows x86 installer (on top). Do not pick the 64 bit version, as it still lacks some essential functionality for PyFFI.

* Blender NIF import/export scripts from sourceforge.net click the green download button behind Blender NIF scripts (top one) and choose the file that ends on windows.exe.

* PyFFI from sourceforge click the green download button.

Alternatively, you can also download various versions that are compatible with each other at TESNexus along with additional click-for-click install instructions.

[edit] Installing

After you've downloaded everything you need to install you can start installing.

[edit] Python 2.6.4

Begin with Python 2.6.4. Run it with default settings; just keep clicking next until you're done.

[edit] PyFFI

This isn't too complicated, just run the program and keep clicking next until its done.

Important Note: There seems to be some issues with installing PyFFI on Windows Vista. In order to overcome these right-click on the PyFFI installer and click on 'Properties'. Then go to the 'Compatibility' tab, and click the "Run in a different version of Windows" check-box. Select 'Windows XP Service Pack 2', or something similar. Click OK, then try and run the program again. It should install correctly, after which you can continue on to the next step.

[edit] Blender 2.49b

When that's done you can begin installing Blender 2.49b. Double click the installation file and press next, I agree, next, next, install, *wait a second* click OK, uncheck the box that says Run Blender 2.49 and click Exit. Basically; put yourself on autopilot but don't forget to uncheck that box.

[edit] NifTools scripts

You're doing great so far, it's time to install the NIF scripts. This is very similar to the Blender installation; next, I agree, next, install, exit. Almost nothing you can do wrong and done in a few seconds.

[edit] Enjoying the goods

I got no errors while installing any of it. When I open Blender and go to "Import" from the File menu it offers these options: VRML 1.0, DXF, and STL and that's it. There's no option for Nif files. Does that help at all?
