Angelvengen
a few weeks ago I decided to try DA:O on the pc, and mods, so obviously I came here. Yesterday night, I was playing DA:O totally fine. tonight, I got home from work, gave the kids some lead paint to chew on and sat down to slay the archdaemon, only to have it crash and give me the pop-up "Dragon Age: Origins has stopped working" no new mods were installed last night, so I don't think it's a compatibility issue, and I know it isn't NMM itself as I've tried using the regular executable file as well, but I figured being a modding community you lot might be able to help me out as I don't want to go back to Dragon Age on the xbox after having played it with mods. the Error message I get has these additional details Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: daorigins.exe Application Version: 1.4.12393.0 Application Timestamp: 4c093423 Fault Module Name: MSVCR80.dll Fault Module Version: 8.0.50727.6195 Fault Module Timestamp: 4dcddbf3 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0001500a OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 my pc specs are as follows: ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ moboAMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8 core 4.0 Ghz CPUASUS GeForce GTX 760 GPU16GB DDR3 RamWindows 7 x64bit I have attempted to install a new version of directx but it told me the newest version was already installedI tried putting it to only one core of the CPUI tried putting it into XPsp3 compatibility, I tried running as administrator any help would totally be appreciated. mcgoy
I did an internet search on "MSVCR80.dll errors" and came up with multiple responses. The problem doesn't APPEAR to be specific to DAO, but my knowledge of such things.... limited. I suggest doing some searches and then choosing the solution that you are comfortable with. Thandal
a) Have you already applied the 1.05 patch?b) Is the game installed and are you launching through EA/Origin, or from disc?
Angelvengen
Launching from disc. But I actually found a quasi-work around. It seems just resuming is causing the crash, but I could load an earlier Save and then load the latest save in the WoT shop. So it must be an issue with resume somehow having been broken.
