moffjc01
I don’t like the way the game has been nerft compared to morrowind, it just too easy and there are no consequences to your decision of joining on guild over another. There should be more competition between guilds and conflicting goals so that you have to choose between them. Next enchanting in the game need to be changed it just feels under powered (I know there are mods to fix that). The main quest is way too short by its self too. I also miss having to choose a Great House; maybe make them Noble Houses but their does not seem to be any nobles other than the heads of towns. The NPC should react to you more depending on you fame or infamy. All in all Oblivion just seems vary watered down to appeal to the masses and the challenge from morrowind is just not there any more, maybe it will change in the future with expansions maybe not...though one can only hope. Oh and almost forgot the ability to mine mineral, to make and customize your own weapons and armor or if you want to have it made by a smith for a vary high price (I know this is more of an add-on/mod but you need to do something with all of those mines)
aenri
Personally I think its all right with the guilds, if you are in thieves and mages guild how would mages know that you are in thieves guild??? and about houses - it cannot be done in oblivion, there arent any factions that are prevailing in some region of cyrodiil... like it was in morrowind (balmora - hlaalu, redoran - aldruhn and so on)I think that mining and smelting will be added by some good modders.Oblivion is HARD, MW wasnt, i have killed everything in one shot there. Cyborg16
Add the option to disable the "are you sure you want to sell/drop/etc. this item?" prompt. I'm surprised no one's asked already, because a lot of people have been asking for a mod to remove that (which I think is impossible). EDIT: Two more ideas:Allow more than one message to be visible at once. Since the patch will be for PCs only with a high-res display, this shouldn't be a problem :rolleyes:Change the "You cannot rest while in the air." Message box to a message displayed at the top of the screen.
daeanor
The friend-foe thing needs to be reworked. For one, it should not be a crime to assault your horse, or even kill it ... much less get thrown out of your guild for accidentally clipping it in a pitched battle. It's my horse, right? If I want to make it into dog food, why can't I? For another, some NPC's just complain if you accidentally hit them ("Hey! I'm on your side!"), and others immediately put a bounty on you for assault. They should all complain first - or, like summoned creatures, require multiple hits before they consider it an assault. And the AI should keep them out from underfoot, it's extremely frustrating to not be able to fight because a stupid NPC you don't want to assault keeps running in front of you. Reply:In Morrowin a modder reduced the angle of attack so that it was possible to not hit your allly. This seems impossible in Oblivion because of how far the attackee is moved when hit and all of the run-arounds. I think Oblivion should have an invisible ally for the sake of hits. The ability to go to the University should be sooner because your levels are really advanced when you are finally able to go. Reducing the requirements of 7 to 5 Mage guilds would be nice. Also, how about a shift function to ask the question of "how many?" when selling or buying stuff. We need a user pin on the map for user-defined-info: e.g. I cannot finish this Aeleid ruin because I need a silver weapon, etc. What does "invisible" mean? Am I invisible or what? Deleted133263User
Is it at all feasible to install Oblivion on a laptop with lower specs than minimum required? I love this game on the home beast pc, but spend two thirds of my life at sea with a laptop I cant afford to upgrade. It has Athlon64 3400, 768mb ram. - The problem being the grafix; Geforce4 440 go card. Any help Bethesda? or anyone would be most appreciated, low res textures, ini tweaks etc. I had morrowind running with 168 mods installed once with an average 32fps, and even ironed out things like the doubling bug so am no stranger to getting in amongst it. Cyborg16
alt3rn1ty: you could try oldblivion, which can get around some of the feature requirements, but I rather doubt you'll get a playable framerate anyway. The friend-foe combat thing definately needs some improvement. Guards shooting at bandits and accidentally hitting each other should not try to kill each other after killing whoever they were attacking. Also, I saw a timber wolf attack a guard once. He just stood there until he'd been attacked a few times before deciding the wolf was actually trying to kill him and attacking it (at least he won...). Perhaps this should be partly faction based (e.g. "wild animals are dangerous" and "people within the same faction should yield to each other, at least before trying to kill each other")?
