Crashes once I enter Washington Monument

Hi for some reason once I reached washington monument and tried to use the elevator it crashes, have there been issues with this before? the only mods that ive installed is the 4Aces HiRes Mods and FWE.

not so much linked to mods as it's linked to how dirty your cell buffer is from being in a complex combat scene area such as the Mall for example, which from it's complexness is rather prone to crashes. Which actually gets carried over to the areas surrounding it in the malls case. It's probably a bad load up of fallout 3, but who knows.

 

However, if it crashes everytime you enter that cell, or activate the elevator, it's a more deep seeded problem which is probably corupted data inside your save game, prefetch folder, system cache, drivers, Registry, temp folders. I doubt it though, the mall is a crash city...

 

You can roll back your save game, an work your way back, if it's corupted, the system cache goes corupt sometimes after a few hours reboot the computer, the rest you can do with programs like norton, or manually delete the stuff in those folders, just don't delete the folder or anything important in there. Temp internet files can be cleaned out via the internet options, which is pretty unrelated to fallout stuff, the prefetch you would clean out about half as much as the temp internet files, just every so often go in your windows folder (which is a bad idea unless you know what you are doing) Then click somewhere, hit Ctrl A (select all) delete all that then empty the bin an re-boot.
