Installing Fallout3 again: XFO alternative and mod suggestions

Hi there its almost a year ago when i played Fallout3 the last time and I see a lot of new modifications are released in this time.

 

 

I did love a lot the realism/survival mod XFO, which did reduce fast levelling and balanced weapons, survival simulation i.e. sleeping, eating and drinking, no fast traveling and so on...Iam not sure but I think it alos did remove the stupid VAT.

 

I did read that XFO has problems with new or updated mods and crash the game, so is there any alternative to this which gives me more an realistic gameplay with survival parts i.e. to eat and drink, weapon balance without overpowered items and slow level advancing ? I did use the very slow lvl advance and had maybe 60 hours gameplay in this time without even advancing much with the main plot and i saw maybe half the game content...was really cool with lots of adventures.

 

I did read about FOOK aswell about FWE Wanderer Edition, but Iam not sure if this is an options since they aim for fast pace FPS with powerfull weapon loadouts, am I right here ?

 

 

Thx a lot for some advice, maybe some of you did play XFO before and can give some infos.

I'm using XFO with MMM mod. I don't seem to have crashing problems, I'm not sure about the other overhaul mods though. XFO is a MUST for my game since it alters lots of stuff and it really makes the game different. As for the needs, I do not use XFO's, I recommend using Real-injuries primary needs then accompany it with Real-injuries mod. Remember to patch it with Real injuries patch. Thx a lot I will test it and it looks really interesting. I did read and test a bit FWE Wanderers, this seems similar. Is there a lot of difference between FWE and XFO since both have adjustments on almost the same datas besides other things ?

 

Well, Iam open to test new mods just looking for alternatives and if there are similarities or if they go just a different direction i.e. FWE/FOOK. Iam going to download FOOK aswell...just would love to hear how are these mods in comparison to XFO.

 

I dbought also the Broken Steel addon and did read that you have 30lvls instead of 20. Is the slower leveling modification with FWE similar to XFO...before i had only expirience with the lvl 20 based game.

 

 

edit: I did use the "slower leveling" mod to slow down the gameplay (very slow) which did work really great for lvl 20 based game....

.....not sure what to choose here for the lvl 30 based one with the addon. Just this or FWE/Fook.....well too many options and need more infos from first hand if someone tested these mods and can compare.

Just use XFO again ;)

I use it with a lot of mods and it works fine. The only thing that doesn´t work is xfo_ammo_rarity_fook which makes the game crash, the normal xfo_ammo_rarity works fine.
