Retribution Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I just installed Dragon Age on the new computer I built. It's a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with 6 gigabytes of RAM, an i7 860, and a 5770. Dragon Age lags like crazy in the menus, character creation, and gameplay. Crysis runs perfectly on high settings, so it's not a universal problem.
rebalious Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I think he meant it might work better in 32 compatability mode
Balagor Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Retribution said: No. It works with 64-bit. Not necesserely. I just swapped for Win7 64-bit.You will be surprised by what does not run 64-bit.You will then have to run the application in a 32-bit compatability mode.
Balagor Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 @LookimscaredDo you mean compatability ?If so, go to C/Programmes(x86)/DragonAge/DAOriginsLauncher.exe and right click itchoose "properties" then "compatability" and select your version of compatability.
pwnedbyscope Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 i run in 64bit no problem so its not that what does your build have and are all of the drivers updated
Balagor Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I run DAO in 64-bit system myself. It´s an AMD system with Nvida grafics. But don´t forget that DAO itself is a x86 application, and are not to be compared with true 64-bit applications. So it should be able to run in 64-bit inviroments, but it will depend on system build and drivers.
Retribution Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 I applied the 1.02 patch and it worked fine. I was stupid for not trying that first. Thanks for the help.
