bigfoot343
Hi, i'm new here and downloaded a few mods, but I have one problem. I can't seem to find any ingame world maps that have all of tamriel in them. I have Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina and am waiting for a few other province mods. Could someone make a world map with all provinces while still following the lore? :thanks:

Pronam
What kind of map are you referring to? The map that you can view and fast-travel with or just a map on the wall kind of map?

Vagrant0
What kind of map are you referring to? The map that you can view and fast-travel with or just a map on the wall kind of map?Fast travel ingame map.You won't find a good one for two main reasons. First, at the scale that a full continental map would need, either the image used would need to be extremely large (larger than the game can support), or the map markers would bleed into eachother too much. Second, getting the map to line up where locations are where the map says they are would be nearly impossible unless you had actually created all of those areas within one contiguous worldspace. This is because the image shown was made long before Oblivion came about so the actual proportions of features, like lakes, rivers, as well as the empty spaces between towns won't match with what is currently in game. Even if they were proportional, getting the map to line up properly would be extremely hard since the cell locations related to the northwest and southeast corners of the image won't exist anywhere in the game, so a good deal of math and blind guessing would be needed to locate these points. This means several dozen instances of changing the location slightly, loading up the game, checking one location against the map, checking another location quite a large distance away, checking another location that is at a point that is far from the previous 2, exiting the game, loading up the CS, loading up the mod, making a few changes to the corner cells locations, saving the mod, and continuing the process over again and again until you can get something reasonably close. Then, once close, checking things with 3 different points further away from the center of the 3 used before, and continuing the process until those are close as well. In short, loading hell. tinylewtgriffon
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23018 This is a map of all of Tamriel. Note: You must have OBMM, because this HAS TO BE LOADED LAST! Enjoy

If you compare it with the official continental map, you will notice many irregularities, so although it might contain other regions, the proportions and shapes of these are rather wrong (morrowind for instance). As for the level of detail, that goes back to the point I was making, a map that large cannot be used as a single image at any large scale, and trying to use it at a smaller scale tends to leave location markers too close to be useful. Skingrad for instance becomes a cluster of town and castle markers, sorrounded by a stable, a few caves, and a bandit camp, turning it into just a messy blob. tinylewtgriffon
I wish there was a better version, but there is not. It works though, but not so well with the Elsweyr mod because in this map, elsweyr is smaller then the mods map. But it doesn't matter, as long as you can see everything, it's fine
