Thaissassine5
Hi guys^^ So I think I got the general hang of overwriting utcs (creature data). I can replace NPCs and companions' starting clothings with better stuff (for aestethic reasons ;p).I can't however figure out how to replace the starting equipment of the PC Warden. I don't want to go through the introduction sequence and then replace their (ugly) clothing with something else MANUALLY. I want them to wear it from the very very beginning. Example: In the Dalish Origin PC and Tamlen both wear Dalish Armor. I know how to edit Tamlen's utc to give him something else like the Scoia'tael or Felon's Coat (random examples). He looks awesome in it but the PC still looks piss-poor. But I can't find the PC's utc. There are utc-files with the names "default dw comm, default elf city, ... etc" in a big, fat "DO NOT TOUCH"-folder. Other than those I couldn't find any utc related to the Origins. Any ideas? theskymoves
IIRC, the files in the _DO NOT TOUCH folder, are the ones that establish the PC starting gear.
Thaissassine5
Thanks a lot! I just tried it and it worked.I didn't touch those files before because I thought them apha stage files and kinda messed up. With the Dwarf files showing an Elf model in toolset and some of them wearing light armors when they aren't starting wearing them. Also big, fat DO NOT TOUCH... yeah. Another question: What's with the default_rogue/warrior/mage files? I didn't touch those, I only had to edit the PC Origin to change equipments. Are they for something else? theskymoves
Glad I could help! No idea what the non-origin files in that folder are. Probably left over development stuff they neglected to strip out before releasing the toolset. Ditto the weirdness with the wrong race model being used... my guess is that the race/gender (male elf) in those files is just a 'placeholder', until the actual race/gender is set during chargen. /wild speculation
Thaissassine5
Ya, thought as much. Thank you for replying anyhow  Somehow another problem came up. It was hilarious upon discovering, but otherwise it's just plain confusing. :pinch: I edited the DO NOT TOUCH utc for the Dwarf Noble and everything worked perfectly. Then I worked on the Dwarf commoner and the Dalish elf and for some reason they show up in their underwear... yea... I have absolutely no explanation why. The item ids have to be correct because all the equipment I gave them show up correctly in the character creation and spawn in their inventory. I did search the override-folder for any conflicting utcs file. IA had some, but removing them didn't help, except that my Dalish suddenly wears her boots... but nothing else. That did nothing but confuse me more.I haven't tried the other Origins yet, but I certainly have no idea why the Dw_Noble would work and the other two don't. Someone else had a mod where they encountered a similar issue with changing the Dalish, and IIRC, they thought it might be that the PC didn't meet the strength requirement. Stupid old brain... I cannae remember what mod it was. :wallbash: ETA that it was Skaramoosh's Dalish Armor Retextures. (See the mod description for some info.) Perhaps if the two of you compare notes, you might get to the both of the Dalish issue, at least. /not helpful but it's all I got Edited June 20, 2014 by theskymoves

Thank you :DI tried different equipments now and it does have something to do with the attribute requirements. I think it's the base stats in the character creation, that count, BEFORE you distribute your extra 5 stat points. I'd never have thought of that on my own, because my Dw_Rogue was showing up naked even though he was strong enough for the equipment WITH the extra stat points. But then I tried the same armor with the Dw_Warrior and he was clothed. The armor requirement was 14 strength; the rogue's base strength is 10 and the warrior's is 15. That made the difference of naked or not. :teehee: Anyway, the solution is either to only use items that have low enough requirements(but that's boring  ) or remove those. I think I'd have to export the gda and uti files and edit them. Gonna read up on them now.I'll post a comment on Dalish Armor Retextures regarding this too. Anyway, thanks again theskymoves
