TheGreatEye
Anyone else think that the horses don't feel as fun as they should do to ride? Look at the horse in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Now that horse felt great to ride. Why don't the Oblivion horses have a gallop function? You know - a full speed sprint with onscreen warnings to infrom you of the horses fatigue, 75%, 50%, 25% and so on. Any game horse should be able to gallop when required, instead of just a boring continuous canter. But another thing I've noticed is that the horse's hooves make absolutely no satisfying thudding sound when they land after a jump. Its just a non-sound, similar to its canter sample. It makes something as simple (and potentially exciting) as jumping into a non-event when it should really be fun. The horse should be able to sprint full speed (at player command) and gain extra height when jumping over obstacles, with a deep thudding hoove sound when it lands on the other side. Horse jumping over fences was fun as hell in Zelda, so why isn't it here? And Zelda is ancient compared to this amazing game. Horses should be more than mere travel devices in Oblivion. They should be a whole fun gameplay dynamic in themselves. Anyone agree? And can it be fixed? :)
