EnigmaticHero
Hey guys, I'm very new to modding, and anything intricate with computers in general, and I'm having trouble installing Ren's Beauty Pack and Open Cities with Oblivion Mod Manager, I've gotten several other mods to work fine with it, but when I try to install these, I get this error message: Warning: This file contains esp files in sub categories -It is possible that this mod could have been packed in non standard ways, or has multiple versionsYou may have to attach a script to this omod to tell obmm what to do with any additional espsIf you do not know how to script copy the mod to a new folder and set it up as you'd like, then use 'Add Folder' Can someone please explain to me in very basic terms what exactly I need to do? I've been using the 'Add Folder' button but I still receive the error message.
Jenrai
Thing is, these are quite complicated mods to install, involving a lot of choices. Check first to see if the files contain an "OMOD conversation data" folder. If they do: you're good to go. Ignore the warning and click yes, as soon as OBMM starts making the OMOD it'll pick up the conversation data (which contains the script it mentions) and you're fine. It'll give you the scripted choices when the OMOD is ready for installation & activation. If they don't: I'm afraid you're gonna have to do it old skool and and figure out what esps & folders you wish to use, and delete the rest from the folder before making the OMOD. Generally, OMOD's can contain more than one ESP, but they will all be activated when you activate the OMOD, and if you're only supposed to be running one version that'll cause you problems. With some (not all, but most) you'll be fine to just activate the omod then deactivate individual ESPs to leave only the ones you want running. OBMM will warn you that the ESP you are deactivating is part of an OMOD, and that you should be deactivating the entire OMOD, but like I said, USUALLY you'll be ok. Not all the time though. If you always use OBMM, its well worth looking for specific OMOD archives or OMOD conversion data folders for your downloads. Jenrai
