RideTheCatfish Posted February 13, 2010 Share Posted February 13, 2010 As everyone knows, the Potomac River that snakes through the Wasteland is absolutely useless. It's a barren, uncannily empty piece of geography that produces only deadly mirelurks, radiation and the occasion tin can. Well, that's what I set out to change. Introducing Project: Relevant Potomac. I can only guess that the Potomac River was incredibly filthy even before war broke out. And after 200+ years of no waste management and no upkeep, I'll hazard another guess and say that it'd be even filthier. What I'm doing with this mod is simply adding loot, containers, general trash, several merchants, and several landmarks in and around the main part of the river. I'm hoping this will spur some people to climb into those radiation suits, pop some Rad-X and go swimming. So far, I'm about half done and I've been having a hell of a lot of fun with it. pkleiss Posted February 13, 2010 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Cool idea. I got a suggestion. Add some stuff underwater too, like a hidden entrance to a small loot cache. Or make some new swimming creatures for it - Water ghouls come to mind, if you don't want to make a new creature from scratch. Oh and my wife says, "Don't forget water rats". RideTheCatfish Posted February 13, 2010 Author Share Posted February 13, 2010 I wasn't exactly planning on adding new enemies (my modding expertise is pretty much limited to tinkering with vanilla stuff), but the underwater cache idea sounds like a great idea. Maybe I could increase the number of Mirelurks and Mirelurk Kings, add a few simple boss enemies and whatnot. I was also thinking of slipping some raiders campments in a few places, too.
