buddah
A Touch of Immortality - Epitaphs of Cyrodiil [Working title subject to change] ---------------------------------------------------------------- History; The credit for the concept of this mod lies with it's original creator "Durham 1984". Recreated later as Tombstone Epitaphs - The Unveiling which was subsequently withdrawn for reasons that are not worth mentioning in any great detail and are totally irrelevant to the current project. The reasoning for this approach is that previous releases were filled with dirty references and inclusions of irrelevant data not necessary to the functionality of the mod. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Objectives of the current concept: A recreation of the original mod by the team at the Storm Raven Library. Not an update or trying to fix the original, but actually recreating the mod the from the ground up. We are taking a modular approach and will be releasing individual ESPs for each of the following: CitiesExterior World CellsInterior CellsSIDLC's This will allow the user to use what is suitable for their individual installations. Compatibility with other mods may be addressed later after the initial release, but getting a clean and functional mod out to the community is our first priority. While we may be using some of the epitaphs originally created and introduced by "Durham1984, it is out intention to fill the world with the creations of the community in a location of their choice on a first come first served basis. So if you would like to immortalize your character or on line persona, perhaps your favorite enemy or kill will appeal to you. Here is your chance. As there are limits to the original assets, we are going to impose a limit of one to a customer so everyone has a chance for a final resting place. As areas are mapped and their assets inventoried we will open them up to the community for use. Areas currently mapped and available for reservation are: Anvil - Click for Map Bravil - Click for Map Cheydinhal - Click for Map Chorrol - Click for Map Leyawin - Click for Map Skingrad - Click for Map Reservations can be requested in the following places: Tesnexus Bethsoft Forums The Storm Raven Library ---------------------------------------------------------------- Where we stand today: The Black Horse Courier article written by CathyM will be used in the player notification. So the user can use what best suits his game and installation. Special care and attention is being taken to keep this as simple and clean as possible, the initial offering will just add activator scripts to static assets in game and attach the epitaphs in a message box. Nothing fancy, just simple but effective is our approach. Progress is steady, the contributions and efforts of the whole team towards a common goal have brought us further along than was expected. We have no rigid time lines or schedules as our primary goal is to have fun and learn as we go. Discussion continues within the team on where we hope to eventually take this mod, with multiple possibilities and additions being discussed. Nothing is firm as of yet as we are concentrating our efforts to get a playable beta out for the community to evaluate and provide us feedback. But rest assured that the mod itself will be much evolved in future releases. Community participation is most welcome and encouraged; so if you have something to tell us we will be most receptive. Do you have an epitaph you would like to see added to the mod? We would love to include it and your invited to post it in this thread or in the Immortality in Cyrodiil at the Nexus.
