slowe115
Hello, I've seen that other people have used the Facegen Modeller program to replicate faces of people. I gotten as far modeling my own face in the facegen and i've used the Facegen to Oblivion face transfer thing but it only transfers the shape, not the texture of the face. I know there has to be a way to get the skin texture into Oblivion but everything i found on the internet is very complicated and confusing. I've tried almost everything from trying to convert things into .nif's to creating a new race and messing with the texture files, but im not sure if im doing anything right. So, I'm asking for any help. If someone could post an explaination or a link to a helpful guide, i'd really be thankful.
Jahmir0
In order to get the facegen texture into oblivion you have to convert in to a .dds file. You can do this either with photoshop(with the photoshop dds plugin installed) if you have it, or GIMP (with the Gimp dds plugin installed), or any other imaging software as long as it has the ability to convert jpeg or bmp files to dds. You then have to add the texture to the race that you chose to receive the face data from facegen using the construction set. The best way might be to duplicate the race and use the duplicate race only for that character, since if you apply the texture to a vanilla race like the bretons then all bretons will have that texture and thats probably not what you want. You can get GIMP here: http://www.gimp.org/ and the dds plugin: http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/dds/ and also a tutorial that pretty much explains what i´ve said in greater detail: http://forumplanet.gamespy.com/oblivion_ge...49/19812374/p1/ Does that help?
slowe115
Yeah this helps alot, but my guy still doesn't look quite like me. Do you know if its because i have to resize or reshape my texture? Or is it just kinda impossible to get the in-game face to match the Facegen one? Thanks again tho for the help
Jahmir0
You´re welcome :) Yeah its not really possible to get the oblivion character to look exactly like the facegen model. I think this is because the face slidder options for oblivion work a bit differently than the ones in facegen, it also depends on the race you make. What i usually do is get the face data and texture in my character and then play around with the face slidders in oblivion using 1 or 2 photos as guides so i can get the best resemblence possible. But like i said, it will unfortunately never look exactly the same as the facegen model :(
