sniggle44 Posted February 19, 2010 Share Posted February 19, 2010 I am currently working on getting a Mich2001 Combat Helmet in fallout3. The helmet will feature a Night Vision Mount, Communication Headset and a Battery Strapped to the back of the head. The problem is, i cant get it to show up in the GECK. I am a real big nub to modding fallout 3 so someone please help me. So anywhere heres my set up in 3dsmax before i export to Nif. (By the way i have it resized to an original combat helmet so thats not the issue). Everything is resized and looks like it should fit the players head. The name of my helmet is "CombatArmorHelmet:0", then i have it parented to a bone by the name of "CombatArmorHelmet". Then i export to NIF. I am currently using NIF tools so when the export screen comes up, i have no frickin idea what is supposed to checked on or checked off. I export Nif w/o animation. Now the archiving comes in. In the Mesh section, i've made a archive that looks like this.data/meshes/armor/headgear/Mich2001/Mich2001.BethesdaArtfile and for Textures Data/textures/armor/headgear/Mich2001/Mich2001.dds I have a feeling there needs to be a config file, but i have no idea. When i try to get it to show up in the geck i usually pull out a combat helmet, then try to switch the model destination to see if it will show up. But nothing happens. So if anyone could help me clear this big mess up and give me a good tutorial or lesson on how to set up a model for exporting *deep breath* and help me successfully make this helmet playable in fallout 3 that would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
