hey guys,

ive been looking and looking for how to get mods to install properly and im probably missing something so i'm sorry in advance for asking a question thats been asked a trillion times...

its my first way through DAO im looking for a way to respec M into a healer, seeing how i dont have W anymore (trying not to toss in spoilers).

so i found myself here, with ReRoll Ring mod, downloaded DAModder and installed the mod but it doesnt show up in content.

guess my question is; do i have to put the DAModder folder anywhere specific? i just extracted it to the desktop .. it says thats installed but no dice.

thanks in advance!

Ok, first question. Is this on your main game, or an alternate character? A lot of people have had issues with mods not showing up, on secondary, tertiary, ect characters. If this is the case, what you have to do to get them to show is to log in to the site, and verify that your game is a legal copy.

OOPS, just reread your post and see that this is your first playthrough. I'll leave that up for future reference tho. Just in case you have issues with other characters.

To see whether or not its actually installed, check your override folder. the easiest way to find it, is to go into documents/my documents look for a bioware folder, dragon age, packages, core, override. (I list it like that, because different versions of windohze has different locations for the documents/my documents folder.

then check to see if there's a folder in override, or a file that contains the files for that particular mod.

It MIGHT be a case of the item just not showing up in game. I've had two instances of that, along with instances of mesh/skin changes not taking affect in my prime game, but going on in my second game. The game is quirky sometimes, lol.

nope, doesnt matter where you install damodder as long as it connects to your mysql database correctly for the dragonage files. as long as you dont get an error about that, you're good.

I'd recommend a mod called metagame items. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13 has an item called the TYPECASTER which can change the base class of any of the npcs except for shale and dog. just open the npc's inventory, left click on the typecaster, and close inventory. it will change the class randomly so you may have to rinse and repeat as necessary till you get the one you want.

it also has an item called the Ring of Rebirth, which allows you to completely respec an npc. ;)

good luck!
