Anthony477
Alright, I just started playing Oblivion agian, with a decent memory of how to install mods. What I used to do was install the mods manually dragging the esps and data into the oblivion directory, and using OBMM to control the load order and OBSE, and I used BOSS to sort most of everything. Most of my mods ran fine but my game was unstable as a result and would crash every 30 minutes or so. My friend came over and taught me how he does it, and I thought that was how everyone else did it, but apparently im wrong because it doesnt work for me. What I do now is, in OBMM, create an OMOD, add the archive, and name it myself and pick the esps if theres more then one. As far as I know I have all the same mods and in the same order because I still order it with BOSS. Only real difference that I know if is I used to only use OMODs if it came with the mod, otherwise i'd install it manually. Heres a screenshot of my OBMM setup. Oblivion crashes either in the Bethesda screen or in the beginning of the mod loading screen http://i50.tinypic.com/291lvux.jpg All thats cut off isCobl Races.espCobl races balanced.espFort Akatosh redux.espand Celestiel-EV.esp Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
bben46
Did you remember to install and start the game with OBSE? Did you use BOSS for you rough sort. then manually place the ones it couldn't? Do you have the latest patch installed? It's always a good idea to disable Deadly reflexes when troubleshooting. For some reason I have had problems with the OMOD version of The Lost Spires, try disabling it also. After everything else is working TEST DON"T ASSUME, put them back one at a time. If you still cant get it to start, try disabling ALL of your OMODS in the right panel. The blocks will be green when they are disabled, and the esp will vanish from the load list. Then after your game works without them, Install them one at a time and test. Doing it this way is much easier than dealing with removing mods by hand
Anthony477
OBSE is installed and enabled, I sorted the mods to the best of my abilities, and yes im patched. Okay the game starts up when Fort Akatosh is disabled, but FA is only made up of a bsa file which i manually placed but was then overwritten when i enabled it, and an esp which I enabled, it also relies of Tamriel Resource pack which I added and enabled, but for some reason that specific mod is making my game crash. But the main thing I want to know is if I am installing the mods right, just so I know if im on the right track.
