dtom1962
I wonder if any one can help me. Like every one else who plays Oblivion I have gathered a huge amount of clutter and knicknacks. There is a excellent mod to place books on a bookshelf, but the z key is hopeless to place anything else particularlt onto an already used shelf or table. I'm not sure what the placeatme command on the consol does but i suspect it spawns an item and the last thing i need is more junk. Anyone working on or know of such a mod. it's the small mods that really make a differance
silverstar
Maybe having some sort of display placards would be nice? A natural slot for each armor/weapon type for those who want to collect, where once you "store" an item in it, it displays the item in the slot? Or maybe just mod up the various things like bookshelves and weapon stands so when you activate on them, it brings up a container menu, and then automatically displays what you have on it? dtom1962
Those all sound great. How cool would it be to have a caase with all those scrolls in it. Functional and it would look fantastic. I have set up a table with my alchemist equipment, but it looks bare because everytime i try to add stuff, crash over goes one of the other pieces of equipment. It's ironic given the state of my 'real' living space that i want my gaming house to be so neat. The issue for me is all the non equpable clutter like tools, plates etc. I have a collection of silver bowls which I use to store gems in. I also have vaious goblet etc. What I need is some way to move an object in the x,y,and z plane. without collision detection perhaps. the abilty to rotate around the 3 axis would also be great. It's no great chore to manipulate an objest on the floor so it is orientated the way i like it. A mod that freezez that orientation and allows you to pick it up and move it without disturbing other object and then release it back in to the physical world would be great. Like I said it's the little things that really matter. Must try to see some sunlight today, Game is too addictive.
Guest
I was going to start a new topic for this but searched first and found this thread - I'd also love to see a way to manipulate items better. Better object move and placement control is needed, the 'z' Grab key has no fine control to it It'd also be nice to have moveable furniture but that looks like it'd be a seperate project. It's all good. How about a chest where you can deposit your gold. it seems crazy to make gold an encumberance and then not allow you to store it. The mod to manipulate objects is probably quite a tough one to pull off. You would need to isolate the object concerned and the be able to move it along the x, y and z axis without collision detection. The ability to rotate along those axis would also be needed. Perhaps it would be easier to create custom display rack for your items SwordsBowsShieldswinebooks I know a book placer exist and is kind of need as long as you want your books stacked vertically. JerseySeven
Regarding that book placer - can you help me understand something? I have no problem rotating the book or books into the position I want but what do I do then? Step 2 in the readme files says "Put book on shelf". How do you do that? There is no menu command for that and the only other action I can take on the book besides rotating and fixing is to release it and then read it. So once you rotate the book, how do you pick it up off the floor and insert it onto the shelf? Thanks.

So once you rotate the book, how do you pick it up off the floor and insert it onto the shelf? Thanks. The book placer can be fidly to use and is not ideal. This is how i use it it and it works ok. A. Method if book shelf is empty before you used the mod on it. 1. Cast spell to enter librarian mode. 2. Use z key to put book on an empty shelf or near to it. 3. Activate book and rotate as desired. 4. use Z key to position on the shelf. The mod disables collision detection with other spelled books so you can slide it along the shelf. It can be fiddly but it does slow down the responsivness of the z key so if you drop the book it will float in mid air to allow you to reposition yourself. 5. When your happy with a books position select it again and choose total fix. Do not choose release at this stage. 6. repeat with other books. You may have to position the book on the floor and then lift it into position. 7. Once you have positioned all the books in the book case to your satisfaction go through every book, one by one selecting it and pressing release. This returns the book to the physical world of collision detection. 8. Cast your spell again and you can pick up and read the books. 9. the library restorer spell available with the wine placer add on will then put all your placed books back if they get knocked off if you are as clumsy as I am. (I can't get the wine placer to work but the restorer works fine) B. Method to use if you already have apartially filled shelf you wish to add to (This includes shelf stocked using the spell in a previous session) 1. Activate spell2. Click on each book and use rotate or total fix to fine tune position. you have to ckick on each book to disable its collision detection.3. You can now use Method A to stock the shelves. Hope this helps
