Holyjoely
Hey, I am working on a really simple mod, retexturing the 32 pistol in Fallout 3. I know its basic, but I want to make it gold. I have tried everything I know and as far as I know it should work, but it doesn't. I can't really explain whats wrong so I have taken some screenshots: In Nifskope it looks fine: http://i49.tinypic.com/2ihl7c3.png This is the structure for the textures (structure probably isn't the right word to use): http://i46.tinypic.com/35874zq.png I assigned it to my gun in the GECK, in the GECK it looks like this: http://i49.tinypic.com/9hqrrb.png Despite this, I loaded up the game to take a look, and it looks great on the floor! http://i48.tinypic.com/29ll20n.png But when I pick it up to use it, it looks really weird: http://i49.tinypic.com/2a7sw92.png Does anyone have any idea as to what I am doing wrong? It is probably something very basic, sorry to waste your time. Thanks.
Branimirzg
hmm... Have you activated archive invalidation?

Textures are flashing/changing colors? use this -> (link) ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated Or: in fallout mod manager use toggle invalidation button.Without it game can't read custom made textures propertly. (It will change one line in your fallout.ini file)

(It will change one line in your fallout.ini file) The textures aren't flashing it is just still, exactly like in the image. I downloaded and ran that program, which has been suggested to me on another forum but it did not help. I did manually change bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 into bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 in my fallout.ini, you can view the whole thing here: http://www.pastebin.com/f678b37b1 Thanks for your help. staticnoise
ok first if you dont know what the invalidator is and dont use it....you prolly wanna look into it....its is needed to make some things work right at all when useing mods its like a need not an option....but anyway... ok so your pic shows it should all be gold....but in 1st person view your seeing non gold parts like the gold change didnt cover all of the gun in 1st person view? dont know anything much about modding textures besdies whats needed to just play other peoples mods...but here im am just trying to clear up what your meaning is ment to be all gold like shown on tha floor...but in 1st person view its not....right? and its not flickering its just not showing all parts in gold like you intend it to?
