Dungeoness
I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong area, or if my search-fu is weak. I'm about at my wits end. I've been trying various reskin/face/hair mods over the last couple of days, but I just can't seem to come up with an attractive and seamless female character. I've tried most of the popular mods hosted on The Nexus. The Ren, Nec, HGEC, mystic elves, even the popular saves with ready-made faces. They are definitely improvements on the original, but there's always something, once I finally get in game, that ends up looking....off. The hands and feet never match the rest of the body. The neck seam is also very noticeable. I don't know if that's just how they are or if I'm missing a file or what. I normally install mods with OBMM, but I've also dropped them in the /Data folder, and respective sub-folders. I always read the readme files and try to make sure everything is where it should be to the best of my knowledge. OBMM often warns me of mod incompatibilities, but I don't really know how to handle them. So here is what I'm asking. Can someone just tell me what they feel are the bare necessities in terms of *compatible*, up-to-date mods that will reskin/smooth out the face and body, and add some hairs and maybe some eyes. Specific names/version numbers and links would be most helpful, as well as any tips on install/load order. I just want to be able to make a mature yet attractive female face, that doesn't look like she's hoarding food for the winter in her cheeks, with a body that matches. Let's see...I have the base game plus official update plus unofficial update plus Shivering Isle.Windows 7 x64, Core i5, Geforce GTX 295, 4 GB RAM - I can handle high res mods fine; I just want all of the parts to actually match.OMM and OBSENot sure what other info you might need. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Jahmir0
Hi. Not sure if this is going to be of much help since your problem is a bit difficult to solve i think. From my experience seams always occur especially with some custom races. Its basically a question of playing around with the face texture slidders and yeah it can be quite irritating and time consuming. However if you use HGEC body then these might help(if you don´t have them already): http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20022 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19738 And for faces: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7343 Hope it helps. Dungeoness
Thanks for the suggestions, Jahmir0. I'll give them a try. Anyone else want to chime in with their preferred character creation essential mods?
documn
I once read somewhere that Oblivion's lighting affects the head and body differently, and therefore you will never get a truly invisible neck seam. I can't remember where I read it or who wrote it though.
