MarieElenaCambria
I have a question that I thought an experienced modder could help me with. I am a fairly gifed digital artist who has played with Mods in game (other people's mods) now for a year. I am always amazed at such wonderful talent. Anyway just the other day I began reading the TES Const site Wiki Tutorials and was so happy to take Bethesda Objects and place them around Tamriel...grass, trees, flora etc. However when I tried to drag and drop one of Mr. Siikas or other modders Nif. creations from the Object window onto the Tamriel World (Render Screen), it appeared in the Construction set to work beautifully but when I saved and then opened up Oblivion and walked into my modified world, it would not render.:( I walk into my new and improved world and see the grass and the trees I placed but NO ship or Farm Animals. I tried many times. I even grabbed others modders Nif. files or Objects that were clearly being shown in the object window along with Oblivon's objects. Apparently I am skipping a step or? Will you kindly tell me how to place one of Mr. Siikas farm animals or one of his beautiful ships onto a mod which I am creating. He allows all of his creations to be used by modders. I promise in the future I will be applying my digital training to create entirly new meshes and textures as many have but for now I need to take things step by step. Thanks so much and BlessingsMarieelena
Jahmir0
Hi Marieelena. Do you have the resources from mr siika incorporated into your own mod or are they in a separate esp? What i mean by this is that you can´t use stuff from one esp and use it in another esp. You can either convert the esp with the resources you want to use to an esm(as long as the esm does not alter anything to Oblivion.esm) and then use them in your mod, or you can merge your mod with the resource mods you want to use. For both these procedures you can use TES4Gecko( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8665 ) or any other tool that is able to convert and merge esp/esm. You could also manually add the resources to your mod instead of merging them, might be better, this tutorial shows how to do that: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...ustom_resources(with creatures it will be a bit harder than this) Hope this helps  CheersJahmir0
MarieElenaCambria
Okies so I downloaded the Geko file and I read the info in the Wiki "Sometimes you may want to just copy an existing object. This can be true if you don't want to actually change the model, or if there are a lot of settings already in place that you don't want to be bothered changing (such as inventory icon, weapon damage, etc.). If that is the case: Find an object almost just like the one you want to make. Change its ID to something proprietary to you and your mod, and click OK. You will be asked if you want to create a new form. Always, always, always click YES! Unless, of course, you want ALL instances of this object in the ENTIRE GAME to be affected by your change. Now you will see YOUR version of this object in the object list. You can follow the above steps to change the NIF file, if you wish, and adjust any other settings. Now drop your object into the world. Either way you went, save your .esp and play test it in the game." font] So with in MY esp.... I find the ship I want and then just follow these steps and rename it? I just simply place it into the area I would like after I renamed it?? lawz...just seems way to simple. I will keep you in touch if this does indeed work. BlessingsMarieElena Do you have the resources from mr siika incorporated into your own mod or are they in a separate esp? Jahmir0
Yup thats basically it :) You create a new mod in the CS and then you can either rename an object thats similar to your(in the same category), or you can choose to make a completely new object. but remember yu have to replace the nif file that the object uses for the one you want to use.
