3vilg3nius
:wallbash: Alright...this has been quite a bumpy road...props to you guys who create all your own material...I have enough problems using whats given to me....lol. Okay so...I've got the Vet's dream home by Hengebob's <<<THANKS BOB for a nice mod and some resources for me to use. :-) So my issue is...I've been making my own mod...in GECK I can place his custom ammo boxes....NO issues what so ever. But when I load fallout 3 nothing...just empty shelves. They aren't showing up in game. 1. in GECK I load Fallout3 esm2. load - All the submod esp's like his....in fact I think I have this issue for all of them...hum...3. Set my mod as Active4. Loadstart editing...save, run FO3....load ...everything else is there...I even put random poo and scripts to make sure its saving properly.5. Start throwing poo..kick my dog, f***, s***, damn, wth...its not working!!!! :wallbash: Any help would be appreciatted....Ive been searching here hours and I cant find a thing....DONT patronize me...I know my f***tard ass probably missed something. Also...how do you package a mod once its done...all custom files etc...wait....F***me I bet it has something to do with the former.... I LOVE YOU... :thanks: for your time guys...... <<<the not so genius
3vilg3nius
UPdate: Okay....so the problem seems to be using another mods resources won't work for some reason. If I wanted to place ammo crates, weapons, furniture etc...both objects and static from another mod that IS loaded in GECK. What do I need to do? I can place them in GECK, and they have their corresponding textures/Models in GECK. But when I load my esp to test in game, nothing shows up; everything from fallout and the DLC's shows up...i.e. walls, furniture, lighting and scripting....its just the custom player mods content that I cant seem to integrate. I opened everything in FOMM t see if maybe I could cmbine them or something...but I am clueless here as to where I go from here...I can't find any info on this...I'm suprised this isn't in one of the tutorial pages...or maybe Im just looking in the wrong places. Some one please respond...
GrandsonOfSam
Just a quick question: Is the original mod in your load order too, and before your own mod? If you haven't made completely new items that use the textures, or haven't changed the base object's texture in GECK, you won't be seeing them ingame, unless you load the original mod too. As a general rule: If you mod a mod, first load it up in the geck without setting it as active, make some small changes to something (anything), and use save. That way you make a new base mod which has the original mod as a master, and only has the changes made to the original mod's (or vanilla) content. Also do not even think of publishing a mod using someone else's work before asking their permission. I hope that helps :)
3vilg3nius
:thanks: Don't worry. I PM'ed everyone before I even started using their stuff...got all green lights except from SEDPL...can't use his backpacks :-(. Im hopeful blackwolf will be kinder and let me use his. Anyway...this is what I've done so far....Open GECK...Load Data...[X]Fallout3.esm[X]Pointlookout.esm[X]otherguysmod.esp[X]otherguysmod.esp[X]otherguysmod.esp[X]otherguysmod.esp[X]otherguysmod.esp[X]otherguysmod.esp[X]mymod.esp <active file>LOAD Open mymod CELL.... Everything from the Vanilla ESMs is cool, such as walls, static, world items...but when I put a custom item from another mod...it shows up in GECK just fine...but after I save and load Fallout....Zone into my mod cell...there are no custom items present. How do I go about combining the items from another mod into mine? I've tried...Rightclick,,,create new...and I rename the item...select the model...and add the custom texture....it shows up in GECK just as if I dragged the original...but not in game.So if its "GuysCustomWeaponCrate" with its own texture/model ... whether I make an entirely new one using the same model and texture or just drag that one into GECK and place it...same result. So in your second statement...you said to...when I load the ESMs and ESPs....set the mod whose resources I want to use as active...make a few simple changes then save...reload the normal way I did above and it should work? What if I want to load 6 or 7 different mods resources? DO I need to do that for each one? IM SOO lost here...lol...thanks for responding...any hep would be SOOOOO appreciated. 3vilg3nius
Sorry didn't know what you meant at first...load order is cool. All the custom mods are selected and in appropriate order in FOMM...above mine...mine is after any mod whose resources i used in my mod.
3vilg3nius
Okay. We'll see if this works. I figured out how to load multiple Master and converted all esp's to master files and this seems t have solved my problem. Time will tell.
