Hoxie
Hello I have not played oblivion in about a year or so and haven't messed with any mods in quite some time. I was wondering what are some of the top 10 mods people that people use now. Any recommendations would be nice I remember having some better textures mods and some other ones but the names elude me and I don't know if they are still around or if there are better ones. Netwit2008
Hi Hoxie, There are SO many super things to choose from. Check the mod detectives thread at the top of the page when you backspace out of this thread. Also in the TESNexus file section look at the Top 100 list, which can be found on the list of topics on the right side of the page. Those are ranked by popularity (endorsements). However, I find there is nothing that takes the place of good old fashioned look and hunt searches in the Files section. I've found several little known mods that add greatly to the game. A player named Clintmich has created some very good foliage/statue enhancements for 4 of the IC districts. They are relatively small files that add a lot without messing with fps. HGEC is a popular body replacer, as is Roberts for male and female. If you like clothes and wigs, I'd suggest Apachii's Goddess and Heroes stores. Alienslof makes great clothes and wigs too. Growlf's wigs are great, as is the Fall Wig Shop. Meogron's Knights is another little mod that adds great dungeons, items and new beasts to the game. House Cerane is beautiful, as is Castle Tantrivaylia. The latter adds a cute little village also and a kewl quest line. MrUniq makes great companions that don't require CM Partners. Also Emma has just completed a companion named Vilja. This one is amazing. She completely voiced the companion herself and she has over 1500 lines of spoken dialogue. Sultericdrums has a wonderful male companion you can romance named Stoker Wolff. I even used items from some of the mods I mention here to stage a full scale wedding with him! Other good companions are Red Sonia (newer version), Neeshka, Rhianna Redux, Montana's Sexy Companion (warning adult content!), Alandria, Keric and Thelias. Insanity's Petshop adds cute leopards and a white tiger for purchase. Tamriel Snack Shop has great wines and pastries. COBL is a good one that will add Salmo the Baker for good new foods. I'll stop there, lol Once I get started, I'm reminded of all the wonderful mods I'm using and enjoy. I have about 155 mods running with very little problem. They are mostly items (I love clutter, lol), clothes, area enhancers, etc. Couldn't play without LHammonds "Lamps of Oblivion" or The Imperial Furniture Store. Both add very nice items if you like to decorate as I do. Be sure to add OBSE and OBMM to help you install, order and get the most from your mods. I hope that gets you started. Good luck! It's so much fun to find new mods. I check the files recap section on the home page of the files section almost everyday without fail, so that is also a good place to find newer, not yet known mods. Have fun! My buddy and I are working on a killer mod series, so maybe one day we'll be able to add our own mod to the list.

Balakirev
Might also want to check the "favorite mod of the month" winner and runner-ups for each month on TES Nexus, to see what people like. I disagree with a number of the choices, but they also provide an idea of the great diversity of mods out there.
