TheCollegeDropout
I've just spent a while putting mods on my fresh install of Oblivion (GOTY). I've been installing a few mods - then going into the menu to check if it loads up ok. Problem is, I installed some more mods today and now when I go in game - I cannot see any menus. I haven't started a new game yet but the main menu is totally invisible (I can still use it). I managed to start a new game (from randomly choosing options) but once it gets to the character creation screen, the same problem occurs. I can see the character and background graphics but I don't see a menu, but again, I can still use it. I realise this is something I've done wrong when modding the game but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems? I've done a search, both on here and Google, but can't find anything related. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT [update] - I just tried launching Oblivion without OBSE and it worked fine - menu's are all there. Running via OBSE though, the menu's are still invisible. Maigrets
This is a problem a lot of people have when installing mods. Instead of installing several at a time, add one and test it in game, not just by launching the game. That won't tell you much in a lot of cases, unless you have a missing Master file. Then the game won't start at all. When you know that one mod works then add another and test in game and so on. For large mods like quests or overhauls you need to play for awhile to make sure everything is installed correctly. Mods that just add clothing, armour or weapons for example can be quickly checked in game usually, unless they include a quest which takes a bit more time. It's worth the time and effort to do it this way so you don't run into issues like you have now. If the menu problem only occurs when using OBSE are you sure you installed it correctly and you're using the OBSE exe to start the game? If you have mods that require OBSE you must start the game with it's executable or you will have issues ranging from mods not working properly to crashes. Posting a load order of your mods may be of help as well in diagnosing your problem.
Vertanius
I have the same problem. I think It happened when I installed one of the realistic fatigue/leveling mods. When i start it from oblivion.exe it works, but when i use obse they don't show, i found that disabling AA makes the menus visible again. EDIT: I just fixed my problem. I downloaded OBGE so i could run realistic health. I deleted the plugin for it for obse and it works again.
