XDANX
My game crashes when my curser is close to new or load game buttons it stops for about 4 seconds and when I click one or the other it crashes. Also you tube videos are going very slow and then crash the internet... I'm hoping there the same problem I did important upsdates and since then everythings been all messed up so I did updates again and still the crashing. I tried running in different versions of windows this helped last time my game was crashing on game start but no success. Windows claims it's somthing to do with Nvidia so I tried downloading new drivers ( no success )
Maigrets
If you're having problems unrelated to Oblivion like Youtube videos crashing the Net you have a system problem not just an Oblivion one. When you say you did important updates what were they exactly? Windows updates, drivers or something else. Which version of Windows do you actually use? Does different versions of Windows mean a lot of reinstalling your Operating System? You may have malware that's installed a bad codec especially since watching online videos causes such an issue. These will also cause problems with games, especially Oblivion which is sensitive to codecs and prefers MP3's to be linked to Windows Media Player. However, I use iTunes because I don't like WMP and have no issues with the game. If you don't already have one you should download a spyware remover such as Spybot:http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html The most recommended codec pack is KLite. When you run it the installer also checks for bad codecs and removes them. If you're using Vista or Windows 7 make sure to get the correct version.http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm Make sure you have a Firewall working and an antivirus program. I find Windows Firewall to be sufficient along with the other programs I mentioned. I should say I use WindowsXP so your experience may be different. If Windows says it's an Nvidia problem make sure you install new drivers correctly. Remove the old ones via Add/Remove Programs and then run a program to clean the registry like CC Cleaner to remove left over entries. http://www.ccleaner.com/ However, whenever Windows attempts to tell me the answer to a problem it's often useless and searching Google or troubleshooting myself usually sorts it out.
