right, i had to unfortunately rewrite my OS on my comp. i got my game from my friend as he borrowed it to install on his own computer. i reinstall it and everything fine no problems with the install. then i launch fallout3launcher.exe and click start. the game comes up with this error.

'fallout 3 does not appear to be installed and the installer could not be found, try exploring to your DVD-ROM and selecting setup.exe to install game'

what do i do, it's never done this before. i installed like i do always. into computer/programfiles/bethesda/fallout3

how do i sort out this problem any help would be great.

im running:

windows vista premium.

amd athlon x2 dual core

3GB ddr2 memory

nvidia graphics card

does'nt do anything, my comps updated as much as possible since i rewrote it. only problem is with fallout 3. my mate says he never had this problem which leads me to the conclusion that something f***** up somewhere. everytime i double click an icon on my desktop it says

'this file does not a have a program associated with it for proforming this action, set associations by visiting set associations control panel'

what do i do about all this
