Kendo's Orcs for Robert's Male v5 and Female v1.2

I think the vanilla Orsimer are dull and lack the variety of the other Mer races. This is the first step in fixing that, new textures. These screens were taken using the default game 'Orc fuglies' and Robert's tweaked headorc.nif. The head textures have been smoothed out and I've painted in a deeper crease at the top of the nose and below the brow to give it more depth. Shadows have been added to the orbits of the eyes to give them a little more depth. In this version I've removed the eyebrows in favor of a high lights and low lights. I'm not trying to make pretty orcs, kind of... The eye textures are all new and made by me.

Hehe. Everytime I see a vanilla orc in-game all I can think of is a green bulldog.

 

With these base textures done I can start working on scars, primitive tattoos and savage war paint. I wish there were more hair options for orcs. I made a bald hair style (shown) out of the human cropped hair nif but that's just ONE.

 

I'll be recycling some vanilla items to make new orc gear to put these orcs more in line with hardcore barbarian LOTR berserker types too.

I've always thought Oblivion orcs were a bit too green.

 

 

Thanks bro. I've put a lot of work into this already just with the paint.

 

Been doing some research into orcs/goblins/khuzdul/uruks/etc. and as much as I hate to say this, I don't think 'TES Lore Purists' will like this mod. Though the origins of 'orcs' is open to debate (that I do not want to hash out in this thread), they evolved/devolved into a race of their own.

These new orcs will not be twisted Mer, noble barbarians and skilled armourers. These orcs will be savages. They serve their masters out of fear, they can march or run for days without rest and they will eat anything that doesn't eat them first. This mod will reflect THOSE orcs.

 

Of course I'll have to comprimise and throw in the plastic-faced love doll version so people will download the mod. ;)

Good job on the orc textures, I've been thinking about trying to make my orcs a bit more sinister looking but thanks to you, I don't have to!

 

Also, does anyone else notice that the attractive male orc is actually Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins?

The Beef Cake body suit really looks good with this skin. I'm shocked at how well it turned out . It MUST be luck. :biggrin:

 

I'll be moving on to other aspects of the project. Also done are base retextures of the Arena Armors. I'm staying away from body-mod specfic clothing and armor models and I have vanilla versions of the new race textures that will be included with the upload. That will make conversions to other body models easier when the time comes.

PROGRESS REPORT 3

 

The base Roberts v5 and 1.2 files are currently in betatest. I have redone the dun-grey and mauve-grey textures due to some minor glitches I couldn't live with. The HGEC versions of both textures are done and the glitches I mentioned were avoided so they are ready. The new orc arena armors are on the back burner and will be included at a later date. The Uruk concept textures have been dumped and will not make the final cut.

 

The dun and mauve textures will be packaged as replacers for the 'vanilla' orc textures. There will also be an optional file adding retextured orcs and cute orcs as new races. The chargen age textures for the new races will be in separate folders and can be used or ignored.

 

In the works:

*optional eye textures for Rens eye nifs so there will be more variation for the new races.

*tattooed versions the base skin textures DONE

*savage Orc jewelry

 

Once the mod is uploaded I will make base textures for UFF and BABs if requested.
