Banana12
Ok, I'm about 40 game-hours into playing a near-perfect game, I love it. The game's sound design is perfect - Mark Lampert and Mathew Krohn deserve some kind of Oscar! But I feel I can now comment on a few clear annoyances that the flood of great mods have not yet fixed (and maybe never will).... * Accents (often inconsistent - i.e.: some Nords in Bruma who sound like preppy USA college girls). For consistency they should ideally have had, say, British actors voice the whole game. I guess it's question of extracting all the audio files, listening to them all, and then posting a list of the most awful accents/voicings that really need replacing. * Some of Jaffre's NPC vocal lines are being re-used by low-level bad guys in dungeons (although I've only heard this twice, so far). I guess that could be easily modded. * Initial NPC greetings often don't match with the mood/tone of your chat with them. Also, your chat often doesn't then sync with their facial expression when you finish the conversation. Can this be modded? * The inventory system often makes finding something tricky, when you're carrying lots of stuff. 'Ooops, I picked up a bone by accident, now I need to drop it, but... where did it go?' I guess this could be modded. * Having to 'open' an Oblivion gate like a door (i.e.: spacebar press) rather than just walking through it. I guess this could be modded - "auto open door" on gates, sort of thing. * The 'Planes of Oblivion', or the two I've seen so far, have been fun but disappointing. I hope future ones turn out to have some more novelty and differences to them. It'd be a BIG job to overhaul them. * Allied NPCs in a fight, they end up "getting in the way". But hey, maybe that's realism. * A few really dumb/repetitive radiant AI "overheard conversations" between NPCs in the Imperial City. * Cool-sounding animals like boars have not yet started showing up for me. The range of free-range wildlife has been rather small so, far (wolves, deer, er... moths?), despite my having the TRC's Encounters 1.0 mod installed. * Still some pop-up scenery (and yet, I have the draw-distance maxxed out). I'm still getting used to the Persuasion mini-game - didn't like it at first, but I'm getting less wary of using it. Any thoughts on how some of these might be modded?
