There is a mod which is already complete which adds the palace. It's Name is The Elder Council, it's by dragoncaptions.

That mod is also supposed to cause crashes in or around the palace, and doesnt really have a believable floorplan. I use it, but personally don't like the portals.

Just took a look at "The Elder Council".

 

A touch to the gaudy side for my tastes.

 

And realist layouts and realism appeal to me as well. As does stability.

 

Honestly, GOOGLEPOX...I like a lot of what I'm seeing in yours. My only hang ups are these.

 

1. WIP mods worry me because a) it means constantly updating, which has caused me issues in the past, b) sometimes WIP becomes abandoned projects...not that I'm insinuating you are going to do so. But what I'd like to see is a "complete" version (meaning no "doors to be unlocked later" type of thing), and then if you want to continue working, make a 2.0 down the road.

 

2. Making sure that the mod fits seamlessly into the Palace and causes no obstructions to existing world space or quest mechanics. I know you said you are working on Thieves' Guild compatibility...things like "unpickable doors" to the new levels will be needed in the final quest, otherwise you will be offering at least 2 new routes of escape that will break the quest updates, etc.

 

Also...as cool as your throne room looks...I always loved the observation gallery...well...mostly jumping from the observation gallery and seeing if my companions would follow...but I still like it. If there was a way to move the throne room above the gallery, that would be great (one thing I imagine is using the observation gallery as an antechamber for people waiting to be granted audience to the Emperor...obviously with no Emperor, there won't be any (or not many) people waiting in queue.

One more thought on the "roof" of the Tower.

 

Trap doors seem to be the way people choose to get up there.

 

Now I see your beautiful spiral staircase and I just think there must be a grander final option.

 

What if you used the sunken spiral entrance that many of the Ayleid ruins have. It would mean a complete new roof of the tower...but the spiral could match your staircase perfectly, you avoid ladders and trap doors, you would be serving game lore as well by giving it an Ayleid door.

I'm not sure how wide that staircase is, but I don't think it's terrible off in size to the tower's diameter.

 

Just a thought for you.
