HanskaX
I made a standalone archlight helmet using this tutorial: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Armor_texturing_for_beginnersEverything works great exept when I equip the helmet it's sideways on my characters face. I'm still noob at modding and can't figure what's wrong. Any ideas?
vforvic
If you followed the tutorial exactly then you probably just need to go into the GECK and on the menu go to Character and then go to Update FaceGen model availability. This will normally fix this issue. Make sure you backup your esp file in case things go terribly bad which can happen in the GECK.If you renamed the helmets mesh file and put it in a custom directory, but did not make any actual changes to the mesh itself then you might need to extract the archlight helmets egm file from the bsa and rename it to your own custom mesh name. In other words if you extracted HelmetRaider02.NIF and renamed it MyArclightHelmet.NIF then you also need to extract HelmetRaider02.egm and rename it to MyArclightHelmet.egm and put it in the same directory as your custom nif. The egm files are what tells each piece of headgear and glasses how to fit.If you did any editing to the mesh itself then you will probably need to make a custom egm using a program called The Conformulator. It was originally made for Oblivion, but works for FO3 as well.
HanskaX
Thanks, I'll try that.I didn't change or extract the mesh. Just renamed the id and and ingame name of the helmet and made it use a modified texture set like the tutorial says. If I had a separate mesh I could propably mess with it in nifskope to make it fit.
